Some moments are made for slowing down.

A warm bath. A good book. A glass of ch*****ne, brought by someone who knows exactly what you need.

It’s the little things that make a space feel like home.

And the materials we choose help create the atmosphere around those moments.

Natural Baltic limestone. Shaped by nature, made part of everyday life.

Reval Stone. Heritage stone for future architecture.
Inspired by Villa Appel

Myth: “Stone floors are cold.”
Reality: Compared with artificial stone, natural stone doesn’t feel as cold underfoot. People who walk on Reval limestone every day describe it as soft, lively and natural. Stone has traditionally been used to build hot walls. Limestone and dolomite store heat and stay warm for a long time. And both are perfectly suited to underfloor heating. The heat does not affect the stone.

Recap. September in stone.

TAB 2026. The winning installation “Resonance” by Aru Ma- Architects stands outside the Estonian Museum of Architecture. Its stone core and gabions are filled with Reval limestone. So is the biennale counter- interior architecture by Hanna Karits, Hillar Mänd, Mari Põld and Tarmo Piirmets.

Louis Kahn 125. An international seminar in Kuressaare on the homes of Kahn and Aalto. Reval Stone was among the supporters.

Hõbevalge 50. At the Seaplane Harbour, an exhibition follows Pytheas from the Mediterranean to Saaremaa. A bench by KOKO architects is made of Kaarma dolomite.

Two issues of Villa & Livsstil. Two of our houses inside.

Pine Edge Villa (June): Värmdö, architect Max Holst. A ribbed stone wall beside a honed one, and a bath cut from stone.

Villa Appel (June and July): worktops, floor and bathroom walls in one stone.

If you are planning a house, these pages are worth keeping.

Stairway elegance.
Different places, different stairs, different characters.
The same cool stone under every step.

What material do you use inside the building in the Old Town?
The same stone as the street outside.

Art Priori is a restaurant and gallery at Olevimägi 7, in the middle of Tallinn’s Old Town. The Old Town is 13th-century limestone and on the UNESCO World Heritage list, so the question of what to line a new interior with had an obvious answer, and the interior took it.

The staircase, the doorway arches, the bar counter, the wall panels, the floor and the table tops. One material. Reval limestone, from our own quarry at Väo in Tallinn.

It is Estonia’s national stone, and it has been used in this part of the city for eight hundred years. Now it is used in modern designs. Heritage stone for future architecture.

Send us the drawings, and we will price it.
