Rue Crussol Offices, QSA (QSA), Paris

Offices for a law firm in Paris’s 11th arrondissement, arranged around a shared space under a glass roof. A cream steel spiral stair and mezzanine rise against a stripped grey concrete wall, with aluminium chairs and two solid sapele tables at the centre.

SILCOHAUS selects this project for how soft tones do the structural work. Cream steel, pale concrete and brushed aluminium sit so close in value that the stair, the wall and the furniture read as one surface. Volume comes from the curve of the stair and the light from above. Only the sapele breaks the softness, and it marks where people gather.

Welcome HAO (HAO) to the HAUS.

Mo_&_A Bamboo Floor Lamp takes inspiration from the natural rhythm of bamboo. Through the flexibility of steel, its segmented structure forms a continuous sculptural silhouette, with warm light emerging softly between the metal plates.

Designed by HAO in Taiwan.

Now available to collect through SILCOHAUS.

Clapton Warehouse, Sadie Snelson Architects (), Clapton, London

A warehouse home where the original steel columns are near black and every new insertion is cut from dark steel: the mezzanine, the folded stair, the reeded glass screens around the study. Under daylight the steel shifts to a deep blue black, set against pale lime washed walls and oak floors.

SILCOHAUS reads black here as the building‘s grammar. The old frame and the new steel speak the same colour, so the line between what was found and what was added disappears. Black divides the plan, then lets light through it.

Storage X Domaine 17, Temp Project (Temp project), Kyiv, Ukraine

Storage X Domaine 17 brings two streetwear stores into one early twentieth century building, completed during the ongoing war. Arched doorways, weathered brick and timber ceiling beams were left unrefined, set against poured concrete with exposed rebar, corrugated steel cladding and stainless steel shelving. A deep purple velvet sofa curves through the main room, its soft form sitting directly against a raw concrete counter. Patches of moss and fern grow in the concrete joints, and the womenswear section is wrapped in rippled mirror polished steel panels.

SILCOHAUS reads the purple sofa as the one soft thing in a room built from hard, unfinished surfaces. Concrete, brick and corrugated steel all stay grey and textural, so the velvet reads as colour and material at once, absorbing light where everything around it scatters or reflects it. Its curved form does the same work against the straight edges of the concrete counter it sits beside. A single piece of furniture carries the whole contrast.

Étagère, sashaxsasha (sashaxsasha), Paris, France

Étagère is a standing bookshelf in stainless steel, 550 by 300 by 1800 millimetres, produced in an edition of 12 plus 2 artist‘s proofs. Four shelves are cut as shallow crescents, each one sweeping down to a point at its centre so the underside reads as a curve while the top stays flat. The uprights are fluted columns, ribbed vertically and set on flat plate feet. Every surface is left in brushed stainless steel with no colour, finish or applied detail.

SILCOHAUS reads this as a steel base waiting for its contrast. On its own the piece is entirely monochrome, light and shadow shifting across brushed metal with nothing to interrupt it. Place an orange book spine, a blue folder, a piece of raw timber on those crescent shelves and the contrast lands immediately, saturated colour against cold reflective steel. The shelf is designed to be completed by whatever the owner puts on it.

Zangaloro, Studio DiDeA (studio didea), Palermo, Italy

Zangaloro is a diner built for a family business with generational roots in the meat trade, designed as a replicable system rather than a single room. Stainless steel runs through the counters, cabinetry and service doors, shaped into continuous surfaces and curved details. Overhead, a deep red metal grid ceiling spans the space in regular modules, holding the lighting and technical services inside its own structure. Pale wood panelling and grey terrazzo flooring fill the rest, with red neon tubes mounted vertically on the wood and a glass block wall behind the service pass.

SILCOHAUS reads the red grid as colour taking the whole ceiling plane and leaving everything below it alone. Steel stays silver and reflective at counter height, wood stays pale, so the red sits entirely overhead and washes down into the metal as reflection rather than paint. The neon tubes repeat that colour at eye level in thin vertical lines, and nothing else in the room competes for it. One colour, one plane, and a material that throws it back at you.

PLISSÉ, Rik Frans Jansen (rikfransjansen), Netherlands

PLISSÉ is a cabinet built entirely from reused metal stud profiles, the galvanised steel channels normally hidden inside partition walls. The profiles are set side by side and screwed together so the doors and sides read as a continuous pleated surface, 90 by 130 by 47.5 centimetres. Inside, the same channels form two shelves and a back panel, with small black hooks fixed to the rear wall. Nothing is painted, coated or concealed, the mill finish and every screw head stay exactly as delivered.

SILCOHAUS reads this as a piece that refuses colour entirely and asks the material to carry the whole object. Galvanised steel is not a neutral surface, its spangled crystalline pattern shifts as light moves across it, so the pleated fronts read differently from every angle. The screws are left visible and evenly spaced, which turns assembly into the only decoration the cabinet has. A material meant to disappear inside a wall becomes the finished face.

Seven Lives, Anna & Eugeni Bach (anna_k_bach & Eugeni Bach) , Barcelona, Spain

Seven Lives is a three storey block of three 40 square metre apartments, built on a tight infill plot between existing buildings in Barcelona’s Horta neighbourhood. The street facade uses the elements common to the area, balconies, blinds, baseboards and stucco, every one of them painted the same saturated yellow against pale stucco and diamond patterned tile. One yellow balcony breaks the perimeter entirely and projects above the roofline, framing a view over the terrace. Inside, the stair core repeats the colour across folded metal panels and handrails, set against white brick and bare concrete.

SILCOHAUS reads this as one colour applied as a system rather than an accent. Every opening in the facade, frame, blind, railing and door, takes the same yellow, so the colour maps the building‘s operable parts and nothing else. The stucco stays neutral and the neighbouring buildings stay brick and beige, which lets the yellow do the work of drawing the whole facade at once. Inside the stair, the same rule holds, colour on what moves and what you touch, white on everything that simply stands there.
