1911 – The Fabrique de Meubles de Coulombs (Philippe Hurel) is founded by Maurice Gouget.

1937 – Inspired by a piece by Leleu, the manufactory produces modernist furniture created by Loir for the Pavillon Ile de France at the Paris World’s Fair.

1948 – After marrying the only daughter of Maurice Gouget, Pierre Hurel succeeds his father-in-law as company director.

1968 – Philippe Hurel, son of Pierre, takes his first steps in the family business. Two years later he takes over the running of the company.

1971 – Launch of Upsilon, the first collection of contemporary furniture.

1989 – Opening of the first Paris showroom, located in the 12th arrondissement a stone’s throw from the fashionable Faubourg Saint Antoine.

2001 – Inauguration of the new Philippe Hurel showroom on the rue du Bouloi, close to the Palais Royal.

2005 – Maxime Hurel, son of Philippe, begins his apprenticeship in the family business. He would eventually take over the running of the company 7 years later.

2006 – Construction of the new manufactory on the historical site. That same year the prestigious VIA label was awarded to a Philippe Hurel creation, the Tyrol stool. Later recipients would include the Ray desk in 2008 and the Saskia table in 2009.

2007 – Maison Philippe Hurel is awarded the French label “Entreprise
du Patrimoine Vivant” (Living Heritage Company label)

2009 – Publication of the art reference work Philippe Hurel: So Français !

2011 – Celebration of the centenary of Maison Philippe Hurel.

2013 – Opening of showrooms in Shanghai and Singapore.

Architecte de quelques-uns des plus beaux intérieurs au monde, designer, scénographe et peintre, Bruno Moinard Peintures explore dans sa peinture le dialogue entre le regard, la mémoire et le geste.
Dans ses huiles sur toile, les formes apparaissent et s’effacent, les paysages, les horizons et les silhouettes se devinent, laissant place à une peinture libre, sensible et instinctive.
Une rencontre entre deux univers où le geste, la matière et la création se répondent.

At the moment, the Philippe Hurel showroom is presenting a selection of works by Bruno Moinard Peintures
An architect behind some of the world’s most remarkable interiors, as well as a designer, scenographer and painter, Bruno Moinard explores in his paintings the dialogue between perception, memory and gesture.
In his oil paintings on canvas, forms appear and fade away, while landscapes, horizons and silhouettes emerge without ever fully taking shape, giving way to a free, sensitive and instinctive form of painting.
A meeting of two worlds, where gesture, material and creativity resonate with one another.

Pensé comme une nouvelle vision du voyage en mer, ce projet fait dialoguer l’élégance française avec l’esprit des grands voyages d’autrefois.

Imaginés par Maxime d’Angeac , les intérieurs s’inspirent de l’âge d’or du voyage et de l’univers intemporel de l’Orient Express. Un décor raffiné où se rencontrent héritage, savoir-faire et modernité.
