Blue skies after cycling home in the torrential rain 😂😂

But isn’t life always that way? You can be in the cold, dark miserable wet of it all but the sun comes shining through at some point or other. There’s always the next moment, there’s always tomorrow but maybe we shouldn’t wish our time away even if it doesn’t seem perfect right now.

It’s hard to see when you’re in it but every experience and feeling is extraordinary, we are just things in a place and to take note of it is pretty wild.

I love the messiness of the barn under ‘real life’ conditions 🥰 journals, water bottles, extra socks, eye pillows, props akimbo and a million blankets because it’s better to have too many than not enough!

We’re coming up to our last retreat of the year next week and then will be organising some local events so keep your eyes peeled 🥰 it’s been a beautiful year full of laughs and gratitude, thank you all for those who’ve supported us! 💕

Little rituals that you can do everyday just to let you experience a moment, be still for a minute or just take a breath.

I like to light some palo santo or sage to clear the energy. I like to have a big cup of tea and stare out of the window. I’m loving going for autumnal walks at the moment and collecting fallen leaves. I like to write down my dreams before I forget them.

I know we’re in a great position here to be able to actually spend our time on ourselves and not everyone has the luxury of the space, time and accessibility to these things… What do you like to do to relax and reset? What can you add into your day to give you a pause? 💕

This might just be my favourite time of year 💃

The sun is lower, leaves are starting to turn red, I can get my jumpers out!!!! Everything is a sort of real life sepia, more romantic with softer edges.. a crisp, clear sky and just enough cold to make me pull my coat a little more tightly to me and I’m happy 🥰

I was working away in England last week and had the chance to pop into Higher Vibe Tribe and meet the wonderful owner, Dele! A wonderful little shop full of one of the most amazing collections of books and cards on esoteric and spiritual themes I’ve seen in a long time!

I just had to add to our collection for guests to use when they visit and found this really beautiful vintage oracle card deck based on Native American culture which is just so interesting!

I also had a cheeky little reiki session with Dele which was fantastic and just what I needed before catering for five days! I can highly recommend popping in if you’re ever in Manchester City centre - I’ll definitely be back 💕

A little satay noodle bowl from this weeks retreat with soft.life.retreat that went down a storm 🥰

I’m such a huge believer in food as medicine but it should also be one of our great joys in life! Colour! Flavour! Lip smacking zing and bite and crunch!

When people stay with us they are often amazed at the wild and sometimes random seeming variation of dishes I concoct but that’s how I love it 💕

Another beautiful week complete with the gorgeous soft.life.retreat 🥰 and they’ve already booked to come back next year so keep your eyes peeled for the details!

We get to meet so many different people here - different stages of life, different experiences and backgrounds, a hugely varying spectrum of personalities 🥰 - and it’s actually so rewarding to have conversations with them all. We could easily be called introverts as we love our quiet time, just pottering about - yet there is something interesting and necessary about connection. We’ve had so many amazing conversations with many amazing people this year and thank you all 💕

I’ve been trying to let go of PeRfEcTiOn lately - which is really difficult for a triple Capricorn 😅😅

Our first year here I was horrified at the state of the grass after summer - I was trying everything to keep it green and lush all summer but in reality, grass (at least the kind we have) is not a sustainable drought resistant plant and the only thing you could do is pump a ridiculous amount of water into it. There’s already too much water wastage in our world so I’m now looking at incorporating plants into the lawn space that are better for our local wildlife too 🥰

But to be honest, I think a little bit of reality and a lack of ‘perfection’ is what we need at the moment 💕
