🔐 Another lock mechanism replacement completed!

Today I replaced a failing multipoint locking mechanism that had started to cause problems with the door unlocking and operating correctly.

The old mechanism was showing signs of wear and beginning to fail, so it was replaced with a new mechanism to restore smooth, reliable and secure operation. ✅

Another job completed and another customer left with a properly functioning door and peace of mind. 🔑

If your door is becoming difficult to lock, the handle is getting stiff, or your multipoint mechanism is starting to fail, it’s always worth getting it checked before it stops working completely.

🔐 Safe Opening in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire

A slightly different job for W.R Locksmiths today, with a callout to Aboyne in Aberdeenshire to open a safe that the owner could no longer access.

Safes aren’t something I work on every day, so it was great to take on a more unusual job and put the locksmith skills to the test. After carefully working through the issue, I was able to get the safe open successfully. 🔑

Although W.R Locksmiths regularly deals with domestic and commercial locksmith work, I’m always happy to look at those more unusual or challenging jobs too.

Been to a job today in Stonehaven, where the Tennant was having issues locking their door from the outside. Lock had a completely worn curtain which was causing the issue but it looks as if someone has tried to cut through the bolt at some point which the Tennant had no idea about.

New BS Lock fitted so the door now locks and stays secure the way it should.

Repair or Replace?
🔧 Does your lock need repairing or replacing?
A faulty lock doesn't always mean you need a completely new door lock.
Depending on the problem, it may be possible to repair or replace individual components rather than replacing everything.
Common problems we attend include:
🔑 Stiff or difficult locks🔑 Keys not turning properly🔑 Broken mechanisms🔑 Locks that won't engage🔑 Doors that won't lock securely
If you're having problems with a lock in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire, get in touch and we'll assess the problem.
