Medstead Village Pond Project

Medstead village pond is a recent restoration by local volunteers. Its been completed with help of Medstead Parish Council, EHDC, CPRE and local bussiness

Having established that most of the water in the pond yesterday was coming from a burst water main, today the level is almost back to normal , and the road has drained. Which in the long term means that the system is actually working.
Thanks to all the volunteers who make it possible.😁

After months and months of worrying about the water level in the pond, we now appear to have too much. Ordinarily we would have had to have far more rainfall to cause overflowing onto the road.
But our eagle eyed FoMPies identified the problem in double quick time, and have got onto Hampshire Highways to have them clear thier gulleys ASAP PLEASE !!

Latest update on the pond, we have a pair and at least 8 ducklings ! The weather has caused some evaporation and initially green algea, this has in turn attracted duck w**d. We had intended to rake that off, but due to the new inhabitants, we will let nature take its course.

This morning we still have 5 ducklings, a drake and 2 hens, one of which is sitting in the house, maybe nesting.😁

Something is stirring in the duck house, thats deffo an egg, but we cant quite see anything else ?
