1970’s Classic Hoop Back Bentwood Upholstered Leather Dining Chairs – Dark Tan. Good quality classic bentwood dining chairs with a classic hoop back shape. The chairs were made in Eastern Europe using solid steam bent beech, they are a heavy weight robust chair with good wear and age. The upholstery is leather that has aged well but of course shows scratches and marks and occasionally small nicks and wear. Some of the seats have been re-upholstered and will look newer. Our workshop has serviced each chair, they are good to go. The price is for a single chair.

1970’s French Mullca White And Blue Laminate Stacking Dining Chairs – Set Of Four. One of our most favourite makers, in 1947 Robert Muller and Gaston Cavaillon created the company that went on to develop arguably the most famous French school chair. Sadly the company no longer exists but vintage chairs can still be found, beautifully made with a strong tubular frame with practical laminate seats and backs and nautical colours. This is the ‘entry’ model, the steel tube is a vivid blue and the seats are a practical laminate. We service each chair individually before they leave our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality.

1940’s Tall Dark Oak Bentwood Dining Chairs – Set Of Four. The process of steam bending beech to create elegant chairs was discovered and developed by Thonet, but when its patents expired in 1869 many companies including Fischel launched production. Fischel was founded in 1871 by Czech born David Gabriel Fischel, a successful vegetable oil merchant, using the first hand knowledge of his eldest son who had worked in one of Thonets Czech factories. First production was made in Germany in Niemes near the Danube. Later production moved to France in Alsace and sales offices were opened in most major French cities as Fischel became a major chair producer. These chairs date from the 1940’s, a very classic elegant shape with a rich colour and character. The chairs are not stamped Fischel but we are confident they are. Please note that one of the backs has a different shape to the others, it is well documented in the photos. We service and wax each chair before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality.

1960’s Original Holophane Parisian Glass Globe Lamps – Extra Large 20 Inch (50cm). Holophane was founded in France in the late 19th Century and they are famous for their inventing and perfecting borosilicate glass reflectors often with intricate cast glass patterns which give a diffused and beautiful light. This is the iconic Parisian globe lamp used throughout Paris for street lighting and sadly removed from use in the late 20th Century, we have repurposed the extraordinary prismatic globe to form a stunning pendant lamp.

There are two versions available:
• Chrome gallery hook with chrome chain and black fabric covered flex.
• Brass gallery hook with brass chain and black covered flex.

We take electrical safety very seriously, our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that every lamp leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. Each lamp has been cleaned and restored and all original electrical components have been removed and replaced with modern European CE standard components to BS EN 60598. Each lamp is individually tested and labelled to BS EN 60598. Each lamp comes completely wired.

1950’s James Leonard Esavian ESA Masters Desk Chair. We have always loved the work of James Leonard for Esavian and we rarely come across the classic aluminium masters chair. Dating from the early 1950’s the chair frame is anodised cast aluminium with the original birch seats, backs and arms. In our view James Leonard is the unsung hero of British Post War design. His ESA company transformed the design led fit out of schools in the post war period but his legacy is hardly known. Snap up these chairs whilst they are still available. We service and each chair individually before they leave our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. We are also undertaking a research mission to record and celebrate the design of James Leonard and welcome input and support from fellow aficionados! The chair is in exceptional original condition.

1950’s White Round Tolix Side Or Dining Table. Tolix is one of our all time favourite companies. In 1907 Frenchman Xavier Pauchard discovered that he could protect sheet metal from rusting by dipping it in molten zinc (galvanisation) and a few years later he set up his factory producing steel furniture. Tolix was the creator and founder of perhaps the most iconic café chair of all time, the Tolix model A, designed in 1934. Tolix used their metal working skill to also produce exquisitely designed but practical café/dining tables to partner their chairs. This small round table design is one of our favourites, the table has powder coated white giving it a bright newness. Made of spun and pressed steel it is strong and stable, our workshop has cleaned the table that is all.

The bench was originally pushed against a wall at one end, but we have left it original. Our workshop has cleaned and serviced the bench it is stable and comfortable.
