My highlights from Decorex 2026 ✨

Natural materials, beautiful textures and craftsmanship were everywhere this year.

From Coban Rugs’ undyed goat-hair rugs and Marthe Armitage’s hand-block-printed wallpapers to clever lighting and decorative details, there was plenty to inspire.

🤎 Colour trends: Creams, browns and softer neutrals are making their mark on upholstery, while fabrics and rugs continue to bring colour and pattern.

🌿 Indoor-outdoor living: Outdoor kitchens are taking centre stage.

❤️ Design with purpose: Discovering Furnishing Futures was a reminder of how our industry can make a real difference.

My takeaway? Thoughtful design, tactile materials and pieces with character that are made to last.

In this beautiful Georgian townhouse in the centre of Bath, our clients wanted to transform their existing vaults into a space that could work both as dedicated w**e storage and as an informal entertaining area.

We created a bespoke w**e store with custom w**e racks, a relaxed banquette, bar and kitchenette, plus a guest cloakroom - creating a warm, sociable space to enjoy alongside the cinema and relaxed living room on the same level.

This w**e vault is in the October issue of The Bath Magazine, in a feature exploring why handmade and beautifully crafted pieces are having a moment in our homes.

Lighting is so important to a project. It can completely change the atmosphere of a room, add warmth and create a real focal point.

In this contemporary country house in the Bath countryside, we used these beautiful sculptural pendants by Nuura to create a striking feature above the living space. Hung at different heights, they create an almost floating installation of soft, glowing forms.

I love the way they contrast with the strong black shelving and joinery, while their simple, rounded shapes soften the architecture and echo the curves elsewhere in the room.

I always think lighting should be considered as an integral part of the design, rather than something added at the end.

Designing a stylish children’s bedroom doesn’t mean compromising on good design.

Children grow, tastes change and bedrooms have to work surprisingly hard - so the key is creating a space that feels beautiful now but can evolve with them.

From timeless colour schemes and clever built-in storage to furniture that does more than one job, there are plenty of ways to make a children’s room both practical and considered.

And don’t forget the personality. The best rooms leave space for the things children love, while still feeling connected to the wider home.

We’re delighted to share one of our latest projects - a contemporary country house in the Bath countryside, where clean architecture and a peaceful rural setting provide the backdrop.

The clients relocated from London, bringing with them a collection of much-loved contemporary furniture and accessories. Our brief was to combine these existing pieces with new furniture, lighting, window treatments and accessories to create a warm, cohesive and welcoming home.

With an all-white backdrop, texture, lighting and carefully chosen pieces bring warmth and personality to the interiors. Existing furniture sits comfortably alongside new designs, while the garden room provides a natural connection to the landscaped garden beyond.

The result is a calm, contemporary home that feels relaxed and personal, and perfectly suited to its beautiful countryside setting.

As the new school year begins, we’re revisiting this colourful Victorian townhouse in Bath - a relaxed and characterful family home designed with family life very much in mind.

The ground floor rooms were knocked through to create one generous family space, while upstairs a child’s bedroom features bespoke shelving designed especially for an impressive Lego collection.

Elsewhere, colour and personality take centre stage, from the rich pink living room with its bespoke joinery and vintage furniture to the pretty upstairs sitting room, with soft pink walls, a vintage trunk and mid-century swivel chair.

A joyful family home, full of clever details, colour and character.

We’re delighted to share a look at one of our latest projects - a contemporary five-bedroom home set high in the hills of Bath, with spectacular views across the city.

The clients had relocated from a much-loved period property and wanted to bring the warmth and character of their previous home with them, while creating an interior that felt right for its new contemporary setting.

Our brief was to combine their existing furniture with carefully chosen new pieces, lighting, fabrics and accessories. A gentle palette of warm neutrals, soft greens and blues is layered with natural textures and subtle pattern, with occasional flashes of rust and yellow bringing personality to the scheme.

Textured rugs, natural curtains and carefully chosen wallpapers bring depth and warmth, creating an interior that feels considered, comfortable and inviting.

We love how the finished home feels peaceful and contemporary, but never cold - allowing the architecture and those incredible Bath views to remain at the heart of the design.

A lovely day spent exploring the beautiful gardens at Caisson House in Combe Hay, just outside Bath, last weekend. 🌿

Lovingly restored by Phil and Amanda Honey, these stunning gardens are open to the public throughout the summer and are well worth a visit. Despite the rain, the gardens were looking spectacular, with vibrant June flowers bringing colour to every corner.

The Grade II-listed house was built in 1815 as the headquarters of the Somerset Coal Canal Company, and the remains of the old canal and locks still weave through the grounds, creating a wonderfully diverse and fascinating landscape. Every section feels unique, with its own character and ecosystem.

And, of course, the tea and homemade cake were a welcome bonus! ☕🍰
