Planning a renovation or extension? Watch this before you start! šŸ”

One of the biggest mistakes I see is bringing an interior designer in too late.

Architects and builders are brilliant at what they do, but designing a space around how you actually want to live is where an interior designer brings something different to the table.

It’s not just about making your home look beautiful. It’s about getting the layout, flow and functionality right before you spend thousands on building work.

In this video, I’m sharing a recent renovation project and why involving an interior designer from the very beginning can make all the difference.

Planning a renovation in 2027? I’d love to help you get it right from the start. šŸ’•

Your home should make you smile. šŸ’›

Not just look beautiful in photographs, but feel wonderful to live in, every single day.

Whether you’re planning a renovation, struggling to pull a room together or simply know your home could be so much more, I’d love to help.

From rethinking layouts and choosing colours to sourcing furniture and creating those all-important finishing touches, I take the overwhelm out of designing your home.

Because beautiful homes aren’t about following trends. They’re about creating spaces that feel completely, wonderfully YOU.

✨ I’m currently welcoming enquiries for interior design projects starting in January, with a little availability for consultations before Christmas.

Have a project in mind? Pop me a message and let’s have a chat!

The best time to involve an interior designer in your renovation? Before the building work begins! šŸ”āœØ

Swipe to see how this space looked before!

A successful renovation isn’t just about beautiful finishes. It’s about getting the layout right, making the most of your space and thinking through all those little details that make such a difference to how your home looks and feels.

And that’s where I love getting involved!

From rethinking layouts and planning how spaces work together, to choosing colours, lighting, furniture and those all-important finishing touches, I help bring the whole picture together.

It’s been another wonderfully busy week here, but I’ve got some exciting news for anyone thinking about making changes to their home! šŸ’•

✨ I have space for one new full interior design project, starting before Christmas or in January.

✨ I also have a handful of design consultations available before Christmas.

So whether you’re planning an extension, renovating your home or simply need some expert advice before making those big decisions, I’d love to hear from you.

Because the earlier we start thinking about the interiors, the more opportunities there are to create something really special. A home that not only looks beautiful but works brilliantly for you and your family.

If 2027 is the year you’re finally going to create a home you absolutely love, let’s get chatting!

Send me a DM or get in touch through my website.

Happy Friday!

Interior designer by name… about 20 other job titles by necessity! šŸ˜‚

From creating beautiful spaces to chasing deliveries, collecting samples, managing budgets, solving problems and occasionally being a therapist too!

There’s a LOT that goes on behind the scenes to bring a design together.

But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I absolutely love what I do! šŸ’•

A day full of interior inspiration at Decorex! šŸ’™āœØ

What a fabulous day!

One of my favourite things about being an interior designer is getting out, discovering beautiful new collections, meeting the talented people behind them and coming home absolutely buzzing with ideas.

Today was all about catching up with lovely interior design friends, reconnecting with suppliers, exploring their gorgeous new collections and finding plenty of fresh inspiration along the way.

From beautiful fabrics and wallpapers to lighting, furniture and those little finishing details that make a room feel special, there was so much to see!

And while I love discovering what’s new, for me it’s always about finding those special pieces that bring personality and character into a home, rather than simply following trends.

I’ve come home with a camera roll full of photos, lots of ideas and probably a few more things to add to my sourcing wish list! šŸ˜‚

Such a lovely day, surrounded by creative people who love interiors just as much as I do.

Which of these gorgeous finds catches your eye? I’d love to know!

Thinking about transforming your home? šŸ’•

I’ve opened up a few design appointments between now and Christmas, and I’d love to hear about what you’re planning!

Perhaps there’s a room in your home that just doesn’t feel quite right. You’ve got lots of ideas but aren’t sure how to bring them together. Or maybe you’re planning an exciting renovation in 2027 and want to get the design right from the very beginning.

That’s where I come in!

I believe your home should be so much more than somewhere that looks beautiful. It should reflect your personality, work for the way you live and make you feel genuinely happy every time you walk through the door.

Whether you need a little expert guidance or someone to take care of the whole design, I’d love to help.

✨ Interior Design Consultations – Two hours together to explore your ideas, solve those tricky design dilemmas and give you the clarity and confidence to move forward.

✨ Full Interior Design – From individual rooms to complete renovations, creating beautiful, considered spaces that feel completely you.

I’m currently welcoming new enquiries for the remainder of 2026 and projects planned for 2027.

So, if you’ve been thinking about making some changes to your home, perhaps this is your sign to get started!

I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming of. Send me a DM and tell me a little about your project, or visit the link in my bio to explore how we could work together.

5 things I wish everyone knew BEFORE renovating their home… šŸ”

Planning a renovation? Before you start choosing kitchens, knocking down walls or falling in love with paint colours, here are five things I’d love you to know!

1. GET THE LAYOUT RIGHT FIRST

Think about how you actually want to live in your home. Where will your furniture go? How will you move around the space? Where will you relax, entertain or work? Sometimes rethinking the layout can make a bigger difference than adding extra square metres.

2. PLAN YOUR LIGHTING EARLY šŸ’”

Don’t leave lighting until the electrician arrives! Think about where you’ll need task lighting, softer mood lighting and decorative wall lights. Even the positioning of sockets and switches should be considered alongside your furniture layout.

3. THINK ABOUT THE WHOLE HOME

It’s easy to choose a gorgeous kitchen, flooring or paint colour individually, but will everything work beautifully together? Having a clear design direction from the beginning helps create a home that feels cohesive rather than a collection of separate rooms.

4. DON’T FORGET THE FINISHING TOUCHES

Building work, kitchens and bathrooms can quickly swallow your budget. But furniture, curtains, rugs and lighting are what really bring a home to life. Make sure you allow for these from the outset rather than leaving them as an afterthought.

5. INVOLVE YOUR INTERIOR DESIGNER EARLY

One of the biggest misconceptions is that interior designers come in once the building work is finished. Actually, getting us involved during the planning stage means we can help with layouts, lighting, materials and those all-important details before expensive decisions are made.

✨ My biggest piece of advice?

Don’t just think about how your renovated home will LOOK. Think about how you want it to FEEL and how you want to LIVE in it.

Because a beautiful home should work just as wonderfully as it looks.

Save this for your renovation plans, or share it with someone who’s about to start theirs!

Interior design is about so much more than choosing pretty things.

A little peek behind the scenes at what goes into some of my projects…

There are layouts to work through, proportions to consider, furniture to source, colours and materials to balance, samples to compare… and lots and lots of decisions.

My job is to take all of those individual choices and bring them together into a considered scheme that not only looks beautiful, but works for the people who live there.

Swipe through for a glimpse of the design process → from sketches and samples to finished spaces.

Because the best interiors aren’t just a collection of lovely things. Everything has a reason for being there.

Hallways are one of the spaces I see overlooked most often.

They’re usually the first thing you see when you walk through the door, yet they can end up being treated as somewhere you simply pass through rather than a room in their own right.

A few thoughtful changes to colour, lighting, flooring, storage and furniture can completely change how a hallway feels, and set the tone for the rest of your home.

I’ve shared 10 of the most common hallway design mistakes I see, along with what I’d do instead.

Swapping costumes, hairspray and competition nerves for fabric samples, floorplans and beautiful interiors šŸ˜‚

I’ve got lots happening behind the scenes at the moment, with some lovely projects taking shape, and I’m very happy to be back creating again today.

Although I may need a little more coffee first… ā˜•ļø
