2020 Ford Transit Custom:

This job took an unexpected turn. However it worked out for the best in the end. It started as All Keys Lost, due to the nature of this type of job some additional steps need to be overcome in order to programme a key. The spare key was with the boss, who was a way on holiday. So as vehicle was stranded and needed to be moved it was agreed to simply add a new key in. Midst the process the customer came out and advised his key had been found. He went off to collect and by time he was back, all was resolved. The boss advised that he keep a spare at home also.
Something we would always advise, is to ensure you always have x2 keys at the very least. As to make a key when all the keys are lost is a much bigger expense due what’s involved to collect all the necessary data to create a key.

2020 Ford Transit Custom crew cab,

Contacted by this customer wanting the driver door lock upgraded and the rear barn doors secured. So we keyed alike a rep lock to a high position rear barn door kit. So one key operates both locks. We go the extra mile also, by ensuring the inner cut panels are waxoyled. A step often not taken by other installers. This is to help ensure any trapped swarf does not rust from the inside out. We also paint the cut edges, again to help prevent any corrosion and rust setting in. Then an additional step is to apply silicone sealant where necessary to prevent water ingress. We won’t be the cheapest, however you’re have a professional installation that you can be sure of is done to a high standard using the correct equipment.

🚐 🛑 We go the extra mile and waxoyl inside the cut panels. We also paint with automotive paint all cut surfaces. Again this is to prevent and protect from possible rust. 🚐 🛑

Don’t leave your van to chancers. The more layers you can add, the more appealing it is to move onto the next one.

This customer contacted me advising he had lost a key to his van. Having just his spare now. So upon arriving I built a new ignition, as the old one was worn. Also build a driver door lock to same blade as new ignition. So the customers old blade was no longer able to work. New blade fitted to key. A spare none remote key was provided.

2018 Ford Transit Custom

This customer reached out after loosing their only remote van key to their stunning Transit custom. Not only that it had the only key to the aftermarket high security hook locks and driver door rep lock. Not an issue for us, as we carry the correct and up to date tools and equipment to deal with them also.
We opened and decoded driver door rep lock. Cutting x2 L4V T series genuine keys. That got the additional security layer resolved. Then as the customer had only one non remote key it would start the van, it however wouldn’t operate the central locking and disarm the alarm. Key was also slightly twisted and tip of key chewed up. So alarm would go off until customer had put the non remote key in ignition and turned ignition on. Not ideal long term. So we set to work on cutting and programming in x1 new remote key. Customer was super relieved and thankful.
