Many sites, one organisation, different needs at each one.

The GuardPoint10 Multi-Site Module (GP10-MS) splits one GuardPoint10 system, with one server and one database, into sites. Local branches control their own sites, while head office keeps overall management.

Sites can share readers and controllers. Cardholders can be Local (one site), Shared (seen at other sites, read-only there) or Global (viewed and edited at any site). Card numbers only need to be unique within each site, and each user logs in to see only the sites they are authorised for.

KONE and Otis destination dispatch lifts work across sites too, with GuardPoint10 1.160 or above.

It's used across healthcare, education, retail and commercial sites, shared office buildings and corporate offices, wherever one organisation, or several, needs to manage access across more than one site.

Already have a single-site system? It can be converted to multi-site, so it is worth planning with your installer.

Do you manage access across more than one location?

Most access control problems are decided long before first fix.

We've put together a checklist of 10 questions UK installers and integrators should ask before specifying any access control system, whichever brand you choose. A few of them:

Have you agreed the badge format before ordering cards? It's behind a lot of "wrong card number" calls.
Is the link between reader and controller encrypted, and will the system alarm if a reader is removed?
Can the supplier give you published cabling figures? Plenty of "faulty controller" call-outs turn out to be cabling.
Does the client's IT team have the server spec and ports before install day?
What do support and software updates cost over the life of the system, and who answers the phone?
The full checklist also covers phone keys and QR codes, scaling up, integrations, upgrades, warranty and data protection.

Lift access control is coming up on more and more tenders, especially in buildings with destination control.

GuardPoint10 integrates directly with Mitsubishi Electric, KONE and OTIS lift systems over IP, so there's no need for big relay panels. That makes it easier to design, install and scale. Floor access sits in the same system as the doors, with permissions set by user or group and by time of day.

With destination control, a user taps at the turnstile and is shown which lift to take, and the lift only goes to floors they're allowed on. At The Hickman in Whitechapel, the first office in the world to get a platinum WiredScore SmartScore rating, GP10 runs alongside Mitsubishi's destination system.

We also integrate with KONE Office Flow 1000. Here, the KONE system holds the floor permissions and GuardPoint10 keeps the cardholder data in sync, which means fewer dependencies between the two systems on large multi-tenant offices.

Not every entrance has a fixed reader. Construction compounds, event gates and temporary site entrances still need proper access control.

MobileGuard turns an Android phone into a manned access point linked to GuardPoint10. Your guard sees each person's name, photo and access level, and can spot-check RFID cards, QR codes and MobileKey phone keys. They can check visitors in and control doors, gates and alarm zones from the same phone. If the signal drops, it keeps working offline and syncs once it's back.

It sets up in minutes with no extra hardware, and it's free on Google Play (Android 11+).

It's World Standards Day, a good excuse to talk about why open protocols matter on site.

GuardPoint10 works with open standards like OSDP and Wiegand, so you can mix Sensor readers with third-party readers on the same system. On the CCTV side, it connects to ONVIF NVRs and DVRs, putting cameras alongside doors and alarms on one screen.

For installers and integrators, that means fewer compromises at the spec stage, easier upgrades on existing sites, and no being locked into a single brand.

Got a mixed-kit site you're quoting for? Get in touch and we'll talk it through.

As we head into Q4, a lot of partners are bringing on new engineers or refreshing the team before the busy end-of-year period. Our GuardPoint10 installer training is built for that: we walk through system setup, cardholders, reports and the integrations you're most likely to meet on site.

Training sessions are available either at our Brighton base or online if travel's awkward.

It's aimed at installers and integrators who already work with access control (or are expanding into it), not end users. If you've got dates in mind for a training session, or want to know what's covered before you book, just shout.

When you're on site all week, it's easy to miss what's new. Training dates come and go, product updates slip past in the feed, and partner news gets buried.

That's why we put together the Sensor Access newsletter. It's short, practical and written for installers and integrators.

Each issue covers things like:

- New products, features and software updates

- Integration news and practical tips for your sites

- Partner programme updates

Simplify your visitor access with the Sensor VMS.

Managing visitors shouldn’t mean relying on paper sign-in sheets, temporary cards or time-consuming manual processes.

The Sensor Access Visitor Management System (VMS) is designed to simplify the way organisations manage visitor access, check-ins and temporary credentials, while providing a professional experience from arrival to entry. Fully integrated with GuardPoint10, it brings visitor management and access control together in one system.

From a single, user-friendly interface, administrators can:

- Issue Bluetooth and MobileKey credentials directly to smartphones

- Generate QR codes for visitor access

- Manage visitor access permissions

- Provide a customisable visitor sign-in portal

- Automatically notify relevant personnel when a visitor arrives

The sign-in experience can also be tailored to reflect the building’s branding and workplace policies, allowing visitors to enter their details and electronically confirm acceptance of site requirements before access is granted.

For modern offices, commercial buildings and multi-tenant developments, Sensor VMS provides a more efficient way to manage temporary access while creating a smoother experience for visitors, reception teams and building operators.

Security events rarely tell the whole story on their own.

By integrating Avigilon video with GuardPoint10, security teams can combine access events with associated camera footage to gain a clearer view of what is happening across a site.

This can help operators:

- View live video alongside access-control activity

- Add visual context to access events

- Review recorded footage when investigating incidents

- Reduce the need to work across separate security systems

- Improve situational awareness and speed up incident response

GuardPoint10 is designed around an integrated security approach, bringing access control, alarms and video into a more unified operator environment.

For installers, consultants and project teams, the Avigilon integration provides another way to build a joined-up security solution around the specific requirements of a site.
