A library for the whole village 📚

When Rattlesden Church of England Primary Academy lost its library, the school was left without a dedicated quiet space. Space was tight, the need was urgent, and every part of the investment had to count.

Once the funding was raised, we got the design ready as quickly as we could.

The building runs along the boundary of the school grounds. It's a tight space, and our modular design meant they could make the most of every metre.

Outside, natural wood and a striking black finish. Inside, bookshelves, children's seating and room to gather, used all day for lessons, pre-school and after-school activities.

In the head teacher's words, the children and school community now have a beautiful new space to learn together in.

If you’re building a garden annexe for a loved one, future-proof accessibility shouldn't be an afterthought - it’s the key to lifelong independence.

A successful living space adapts to changing needs over time, ensuring it always feels like a welcoming home first, and an assisted environment second. We achieve this by removing physical barriers from day one. This includes using level thresholds to eliminate trip hazards and planning all internal doors to be at least 900mm wide. We also incorporate "hidden" engineering, like reinforcing walls during the build so grab rails can easily be added later, and pre-routing cabling for medical alarms.
