Meet Damian 👋

Before security, Damian was pulling pints as a barman at the Metro bar in Sidcup, with his sights set on an acting career.

When he was offered a free security course, he took it as a way to keep his work options open while chasing the stage and screen.

Now he’s part of the Akon team and we are glad he is.

A few quick ones:
✈️ Dream job growing up: Pilot in the R.A.F.
☕ Go to hot drink: Coffee, always
🍊 Shift snack: Tangerines at the moment (it used to be chocolate covered peanuts, before the weight loss!)

Got a question for Damian, or looking for a security team you can rely on?

Get in touch.

Stronger together. 🥊

Our team stepped away from their security roles last night and into City Boxing (NEW ACCOUNT) to train together.

When a team trains together, something shifts. 💪
You push each other, encourage each other and show up for each other.

Thank you to the Canterbury City Boxing for letting us use the space. Looking forward to the next session already.

Meet Josh, operations supervisor at Akon Security Services

He grew up wanting a career in the military, but life had different plans.

Why a career in security? “To help people and do what’s right, even when it’s difficult.”

Go to snack on shift?
I’m not really a snacker, energy drinks are my strength.

Go to hot drink?
Not really a hot drink person. I do enjoy a can of Monster though.

Josh is a great example of the commitment and integrity we look for in the Akon Security team. Say hello when you see him next.

We wanted to let you know that….

… both our Akon Security patrol vans carry life saving equipment:

✅ Trauma kit
✅ FREC 3 bag
✅ AED (defibrillator)
✅ Bleed control bandages and dressings
✅ Oxygen

Plus every one of our SIA licensed officers is emergency first aid trained and our operations team are out on patrol across Kent 24/7 | 365 days a year.

This means that trained help and our kit can potentially be available and on scene fast, until the emergency services arrive.

In a cardiac arrest or serious bleed, every minute counts.

We’re here to support our community as best we can.

Meet Owen, one of our Operations Supervisors 👋

We asked him a few questions to get to know the person behind the radio.

🔨 What he wanted to be when he grew up: a carpenter
🍬 Go to snack on shift: Sour Patch Kids, for the energy boost
🥤 Go to drink: no hot drinks for Owen, he prefers a Monster Energy all the way
⚡ Why security: “I enjoy the adrenaline rush of solving problems before they become bigger issues.”

That last one says it all. Spotting an issue early and dealing with it before it escalates is exactly what our clients need from the team on the ground.

Stay tuned, we’ll be introducing more of our operations supervisors over the coming weeks.

This month we are recognising not one but four employees of the month;
🛡️Ezra
🛡️Farli
🛡️Ken
🛡️Lee

…for their outstanding actions during Faversham Hop Festival.

When a member of the public found themselves in a situation of significant distress and immediate danger, these colleagues acted without hesitation, demonstrating courage, professionalism and genuine concern for the welfare of another person.

Their quick thinking, teamwork and willingness to go above and beyond exemplify the values we strive to uphold at Akon Security Services.

We are incredibly proud of their actions and the difference they made that day.

Congratulations and thank you for your exceptional commitment.
