Airbnb - this will finish them!
Introducing this change will significantly increase prices while reducing service standards. If there is not enough time between reservations to complete a proper turnaround, early check-ins will no longer be possible, and standard check-in times could be pushed back to as late as 5pm . This would create considerable inconvenience for guests and place additional pressure on cleaners.
Cleaning companies will also charge more due to increased workload, and the need to complete turnovers under greater time constraints. Linen, laundry and cleaning services is a huge cost already!
If hosts feel that the platform is making it more difficult and expensive to operate their properties, many may choose to leave. Airbnb depends entirely on having a strong supply of well-managed properties; without them, the platform cannot maintain its business. Losing a significant number of listings could also give competing platforms an opportunity to attract both hosts and guests.
Protecting property standards, realistic turnaround times, reasonable pricing, and host satisfaction should remain priorities!
