Village halls, community centres and social clubs — this one's for you.

Before your Christmas events start, five things worth ten minutes:
Do the radio mics work everywhere on the stage, or just in one spot?
Is the projector still bright with the lights on?
Do any amplifier channels crackle?
Does the hearing loop work — and when did anyone last test it?
And can more than one person in the building actually operate the system?

Ten minutes on that list now saves a very stressful evening in front of a full hall in December.

Another local event, another venue brought to life.

We were at Wivenhoe House recently providing production to help bring everything together.

Every event has its own character, and it’s always good to be part of something happening on our doorstep. There’s plenty of work that goes on behind the scenes, but seeing it all come together on the day makes it worthwhile.

If your work Christmas do is more than drinks in the office this year, here's a friendly heads-up from the production side: December dates start filling up in October.

Marquees, venue takeovers, awards nights and charity balls. Sound, lighting, staging, dance floors and screens across Essex and beyond, including venues we know well.

Autumn is service season, and we see the same pattern every year.

A school's radio mics stop working properly just before the Christmas concert. A church discovers an induction loop hasn't been performing as it should. A venue finds an amplifier fault the week of a busy December event.

The common thread is usually the same: systems that haven't been checked for a while are suddenly expected to perform when they're needed most.

We carry out servicing, health checks, fault call-outs and LOLER inspections across schools, churches, venues and community spaces throughout Essex.

A planned visit in October is straightforward. An emergency call-out in your busiest week of the year rarely is.

We're in.

Spotlight Sound is now operating from our new home at Montpeliers Farm, just outside Chelmsford.

We're not quite finished yet, but that's probably the point. Recovery was never going to happen overnight. The shelves are filling up, stock is arriving and the new space is steadily taking shape.

Same team, same number (01245 206 206), and the same focus on delivering work to the standard our clients know us for.

Church sound is its own specialism.

Autumn is one of the busiest parts of our year, and the reasons are often similar — systems that have grown over time, equipment that's been in place for years, and technologies such as hearing loops that haven't been reviewed recently.

A system a volunteer can run on a Sunday morning without training. Speech that's clear in every pew, not just the front six rows. Kit that respects the building it's going into.

We've done this work across Essex and beyond.

Every church is different, but the questions we come across are often very similar.

A question for Essex pubs, bars and restaurants heading into the busiest trading season of the year. Does your venue sound as good as it looks?

We've installed and upgraded sound systems at hospitality venues including The Fatling in Hornchurch, Hackers in Billericay and Walkabout in Colchester, and further afield at Rosie's nightclub in Chester.

Hospitality systems live a hard life. Heat, moisture, ten years of Friday nights, and the one member of staff who understood the mixer leaving in March. The result is usually a system running at half of what it could do, with the room's atmosphere paying for it.

If that sounds familiar, sort it before December trading rather than during it. We do site visits and honest advice on whether kit needs repairing, adjusting or replacing. 01245 206 206.
