An 80-tonne press — all to shape the tail on my metal bird.

It scares the bejesus out of me, but after Kevin’s 20-minute health & safety briefing, I was apparently qualified. 🤣👩‍🏭

I have a sneaky feeling the lovely lady who left this review might see this post… 😊

So, without naming names — thank you! 🥰

She’d been following Megs Metal Designs here on Facebook before deciding to order these as a gift, which makes this review rather special.

And after Monday’s little peek at what happens between an order coming in and a parcel heading out, I couldn’t have picked a better review to share. 🎁

“Well packaged & beautifully gift wrapped” — that’ll do me nicely. 😂

Everything I send is gift wrapped as standard and carefully protected for its journey, whether it’s a treat for your own garden or heading off as a present.

Thank you, mystery Facebook follower — you know who you are! 😊🌿

One of my favourite bits of Megs Metal Designs is actually sending the orders out. 😊
Everything is wrapped by me, gift ready as standard, then very firmly protected for its journey — pretty on the inside, rather less glamorous on the outside! 😂
So if you're starting to think about Christmas presents for the gardener in your life, you don't need to worry about the wrapping either.
Handmade metal garden art, made in my Cotswolds workshop with FREE UK delivery.

Ready Steady Cook… but with old metal scythes. 😂👩‍🏭
Free broken garden implements? Yes please! 😂
Mmm… well, it’s not the Middle Ages, so the scythes were going nowhere near the garden.
It started as a palm tree and, a bit of cutting, grinding and welding later, it became a bird — yes, it’s a bird. 😂
I even managed to get through the whole thing without cutting myself, despite Kevin’s helpful workshop advice of “don’t miss your throat if you do.” 🙄🤣
I absolutely love taking something old and forgotten and turning it into something completely different for the garden. 🌿

When one set isn't going to be enough... 🌿
I particularly liked one line in this review — “I am going to be getting some more.” 😂
These basket plant supports are one of those pieces that are decorative enough to look good in the garden, but they have a proper job to do too.
Made from solid steel, they support plants as they grow and are designed to stay out in the garden and weather naturally over time.
And at this time of year, they're also rather handy if you're starting to tuck a few presents away — useful, handmade and something a gardener might not already own. 🎁
Sets of 3 with FREE UK delivery.

From pretty to pretty indestructible 😂

These four Poppy & Basket orders all headed out together last week.

First the pretty bit 🎁 — each one wrapped up with tissue and ribbon. Then comes the slightly less glamorous bit… bubble wrap, cardboard armour, and finally the grey waterproof Evri torpedoes. 😂

I do like knowing that what leaves my workshop looking pretty also has a fighting chance of arriving that way!

If you’re sending an order straight to someone as a gift, just let me know and I can include a personal message too. 🌿

😂 Well this made me laugh!
Very pleased to know I've helped maintain Rachel's status as favourite sister — although she later admitted it's her only sister, so apparently the competition isn't quite as fierce as I first thought. 🤣
These little raincatcher trios have become one of my most popular pieces and make lovely little gifts too.
£17 with FREE UK delivery and gift wrapping as standard. 🎁🌿

Well these seemed destined for Scotland… 😂 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
A couple of my metal thistles wrapped up and ready to head north — including one in its rather appropriate tartan wrapping!
From bare steel in the workshop to a lovely rusty finish out in the garden, they're made by me here in the Cotswolds and stand around 1 metre tall.
£22 each with FREE UK delivery.

Apparently the lathe is a “proper engineering tool” and, according to my husband, not really for girls… a bit like a Yorkie bar then 😂
Anyway, here I am making my poppy heads 👩‍🏭
From lengths of steel bar to finished poppies — made by me here in the workshop, then left to weather naturally for that lovely rustic finish. 🌿

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This rather made my day 🧡
I love seeing my pieces heading off to other people's gardens — and messages like this make all the making, wrapping and trips to the parcel shop rather worthwhile 😂
Each design is tried, tested and photographed in my own gardens before being offered for sale.
And apparently they make rather good gifts too 🎁🌿
Thank you Jenny 🧡
