DEAD AND GONE!

A nice ride out on Thursday,
Mrs Sweep and I,
First stop was in Sunderland, Underneath a cloudless sky,

A statue by Ray Lonsdale,
To visit is a must,
Standing by the river,
Head to toe in rust,

From a time of heavy industry,
Two ship workers there were sat,
Break time at the shipyard,
They’d eat their bait and chat,

They’d read The Sunderland Echo,
Catching up on all the news,
Time to roll a cigarette,
Sitting quietly they muse,

Alas it’s all a memory,
From the banks along The Wear,
The ships now made on foreign shores,
We no longer build them here

SUZIE’S SURPRISE!

Today is very special,
It’s an annual event,
Today they launch the festive bake,
So off to Greggs we went,

Suzie was excited,
She likes to w**e and dine,
A cup of coffee had to do,
She said that it was fine,

We’d been out on the e bikes,
So I treated her to tea,
A festive bake - that’s all it takes,
In Greggs at Pity Me!

H&S

When you’re in construction,
Health & safety can be harrowing,
Be sure to get your licence,
If you’re intending to be barrowing,

A licence is required,
You need to tow the line,
You must comply - and here’s why,
You’ll end up with a fine!

BLACK LION.

I went to Black Lion,
I’ve been there before,
Cup of tea on the table,
Sarah Jane knows the score,
I was booked in for 10,
I arrived spot on time,
I left at 11,
All had gone fine,
Real ale is served,
It’s a popular bar,
People all visit,
From near and far,
Everyone’s welcome,
The young and the old,
The fire burns hot,
But the b**r is cold,
Go check it out,
If you’re passing by,
Black Lion at Wolsingham,
Give it a try!
