Our Norfolk holiday didn’t quite go to plan, and sadly we ended up coming home early! 🥲
BUT we did manage to squeeze in some lovely little places along the way, so I thought I’d share a few of our favourites.
A little round-up of places to eat, explore and visit with the dogs 🐾
Have you got any Norfolk favourites we missed?

I don’t really know why I’ve waited to share this…
Maybe because it’s taken me such a long time to get here. Over 10 years!!! Anyway, here’s a little story ❤️

AD The final part of my dining nook glow-up… and this time I’m making the cushions!

I built the bench seat myself, so of course I thought I’d have a go at making the cushions too.
And I am definitely NOT an expert sewer!

I chose three Made to Measure fabrics from and ordered by the metre, mixing colours and stripes and adding diy piping for that extra detail. I love that these fabrics don’t just have to be used for curtains or blinds, there are so many DIY possibilities, I even recovered my dining chairs too.

Then it was time for my favourite bit, styling the nook with some gorgeous Dunelm pieces and finally seeing the whole space come together.

What do you think of the finished dining area?

Dining nook glow up Part 2 and it’s colour time!

The bench is built and now it’s time to get some paint on it so I’m using Nans Best China, a gorgeous blue. It’s the same colour I’m using on my lower kitchen cabinets and I’m LOVING how it’s looking so far.

But now I need cushions and I can’t decide what colours to go for. What would you choose?

Dining nook glow up Part 1 🪚

So I’ve decided to build my own bench seat! Never done this before but I’ve got a plan, some timber and I’m giving it a go. I’m hoping to create a custom bench with some hidden storage and make much better use of this little corner.

Let’s see if Debs can DIY it! 👀

Part 4 of my budget kitchen makeover and apparently I can’t just finish one project before starting another 😂
Before I get to painting those kitchen cabinets blue, I’ve decided our dining nook needs a bit of glow up too!

I’ve got an idea involving some wood, a few power tools and a DIY bench seat. I’ve never built one before, but how hard can it be? Wish me luck 🤞 #

Part 3 of my budget kitchen makeover and we’re finally painting the cabinets!

I painted my last kitchen in my rented house so I know the prep and the paint choice is the key. This time I’m used Satin Finish Cupboard paint in Cotton White and it was a bit trickier than using the matte.

I’m sharing some of my tips for getting a lovely smooth finish, what I’ve learnt along the way and why taking your time with the prep really does make all the difference.

Have you ever painted your kitchen cabinets? Any tips you’d add?

BUDGET KITCHEN MAKEOVER part 2 - let’s paint the tiles!!! Tile paint is such a cheap and easy way to transform a kitchen. I’ve chosen the shade Chalk White by in their Tile Paint. It’s a soft off white shade in a Matt finish and straight away I think the kitchen looks fresher right? Prep of the tiles is the key for making sure your painted tiles last.
Let me know if you want more tile painting top tips?

Next I’m going to be painting the cabinets 🙌
