🔥 Gas or ⚡ electric… which would you choose?
For a long time, running costs gave electric fires a notable advantage over gas. But with current energy prices, our latest comparison shows that the difference has all but disappeared.
Based on current Ofgem energy prices for Northern Scotland, running a typical 0.75kWh electric fire or 2.5kWh gas fire both work out at around 20p per hour, or 79p over an evening.
So, if the cost of enjoying your fire is now remarkably similar, what matters most to you?
🔥 The look and feel of a real gas flame?
⚡ The efficiency and sustainability of an electric fire?
🏡 Or simply finding the fire that fits the style of your home?
With an enormous choice of gas and electric fires and stoves available, choosing your next fireplace can be much more about the experience you want and the home you want to create.
