Introducing the Bluebellgray tartan 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😭

As a Scottish company that has spent decades working in textiles, designing our own tartan has been nothing short of dream. Tartan is woven into Scotland’s history, its families, its places and its celebrations. To add our own chapter to that story is something we don’t take lightly, and we couldn’t be prouder.

We worked with specialised weavers whose skills and expertise go back generations, to create two colourways, both now officially recorded on the Scottish Register of Tartans: Bluebellgray Ceilidh and Bluebellgray Coastal.

Each one is unmistakably Bluebellgray. It’s full of colour and joy, and it’s rooted in one of Scotland’s oldest textile traditions.
Woven from 100% wool, our tartan will be available as fabric by the metre, scarves, throws and cushions.

Thank you to everyone who guessed, spotted us on the registry(!), and cheered us on along the way. We can’t wait to see our tartan in your homes and wrapped around your shoulders 😍

Launching this week 🩷

PS. Yes you can see rain droplets on the fabrics because yes it was pouring with rain while we did our Scottish photoshoot - quite fitting really 🥰🌧️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

2026 Goal - Design my own knitwear… TICK ✅ 🥹

We have a huge new range of made-in-Scotland knitted (and woven 👀 ) accessories to launch - around 18 new lines 🤗🧶 - but our Knitted Tam is the first. Our take on this Scottish classic needed its own spotlight. It’s a wee bit niche, it’s very Scottish. Perfect for adding some colour to a grey day, or a gift for someone who loves Scotland too 🩷

The dining room 🏡 I’ve never not been colour confident but it was a stroke of genius from that convinced me to paint the woodwork this archive Farrow & Ball colour 💙 just love how it looks with my ever growing collection of blue and white plates and pottery🥰

It was photographed to feature in A Place in Scotland by Banjo Beale - which is the most incredible interiors book full of “beautiful Scottish interiors”. If you’ve not seen it before you must check it out - a great coffee table book and a really lovely gift for someone who loves Scotland or interiors 🫶🏻

Interiors inspiration 💫 I’ve had a 20 year career in the interiors industry…and do you want to know my biggest piece of advice for interiors inspiration and colour inspiration? And creating your own unique style that doesn’t just come from an algorithm? It’s a controversial one but here it is 😅 Step away from Pinterest…..step away from the algorithm 😮‍💨 the BEST inspiration is seeing things with your own eyes in the real world 😍 that’s the way to REALLY work out what you love and hone a look that’s uniquely yours and not just a cookie cutter of what is trending on insta 😅👌🏻

These pictures have been some of my biggest inspiration when decorating my own home, but they come from a place that isn’t a trending space on insta or Pinterest, it’s a tiny house in the outer Hebridies owned by Historic Scotland in one of the villages on the west side of Lewis my family come from ❤️ inspiration and what makes your heart sing is personal is unique for everyone, and for me, these interiors are some of my favourite in the world. I love that they are part of my heritage, that they make me feel nostalgic and at home, and I LOVE the use of colour. I love the resourcefulness of the decorating, the realness to it, the instinctive nature of how it all got put together. I love it all 🥹🥰🫶🏻 but I had to see it in real life to really feel it and understand it.

The real world is SO much more inspiring than an algorithm! And if you really want to find your OWN style, that you create and love, without a hint of Ai 🤖 😜 the real world is where it’s at 🤗
