Bedroom Makeover 🎨

This room was in pretty good shape overall, apart from one wall with some recurring cracks. These had previously been filled by another decorator but, unfortunately, had returned.

I got to work digging out the cracks, removing all the loose material and dust, then giving them the double-fill treatment.

First up was Toupret Fibacryl, a flexible filler containing microfibres to help accommodate movement in the walls. Once that had done its job, I applied a layer of extra-fine filler to achieve a flawless finish.

With the preparation sorted, it was time for the paint:

🎨 Ceiling & coving: Two coats of white.

🎨 Walls: Two coats of the customer’s chosen colour — F&B Skimming Stone.

🎨 Woodwork: Finished using the Johnstone’s Aqua Guard system.

Another room completed ✔️

Hallway, Stairs & Landing 🎨

This area of the house was previously lined with wallpaper, hiding a multitude of cracks, poor filling and even an old, unused doorway that had been filled in.

I sealed the bare plaster, cracked open a big bag of filler and set the Mirka to full speed! After a few days of preparation, it was finally ready for the customer’s chosen colour.

The choice? Farrow & Ball Mizzle — I think we can all agree it looks fantastic! 👌🏼

All the woodwork was finished using Johnstone’s Aqua Guard water-based system, helping to keep it looking brilliant white for years to come.

I love it when a customer is brave with colour — even when it’s a small room! 😍

This small WC had recently had new skirting and boxing-in fitted, which unfortunately left the walls looking a little worse for wear, as you can see from the before photos.

Add to that some pretty substantial cracks in the walls, and this little room definitely needed the Painters Ink treatment! 🎨💪🏼

This is an ongoing customer who usually sticks to more conservative colour choices, so it was great to see them go bold with one of my favourites from Farrow & Ball — Hague Blue. 🔵

I did advise that, with this being a guest WC and likely to get plenty of traffic, plus having no splashback behind the sink, we should go for something a little more durable.

So for this one, we went with Farrow & Ball Modern Emulsion — giving them the colour they wanted with the added durability this room needs.

Small room, big transformation! 👌🏼🎨

The last of the exteriors for 2026!

This project was a challenge, I won’t lie. Very heavy, previously painted pebble dash, along with woodwork that’s been standing for over 100 years — which meant a LOT of preparation!

The house hadn’t been painted for a long time and was looking a little worse for wear, so the challenge was on! 💪🏼

Scaffolding went up, a few top decorators jumped on board, and everyone worked like troopers to get this one turned around before the summer ended

The result? Not only does the house look fresh and like new again, but it’s now properly protected from the elements for years to come. 🏡🎨

Working through the weekend to keep up with demand and make the most of the good weather, as we push to get the exterior work wrapped up before the weather turns.

There’s a lot going into this project, so I’ve brought in a couple of additional decorators to help keep things moving. The lads have been putting in a great shift every day and the progress is really starting to show.

I do enjoy a challenge, especially when it’s something a little different.

I was asked to recreate a design the customer had found on Pinterest, with one simple question…

“Can you do this in our boys’ bedroom?”

Out came the laser level, precision masking tape and plenty of patience. Each colour was carefully applied, allowing adequate drying time between coats to achieve those crisp, razor-sharp lines.

The finishing touch was the scattered spot detail across the white section, which really brings the whole design to life. It softens the bold geometric shapes, adds depth and movement, and ties the whole feature wall together.

Everything is now ready for the electrician to fit the light fittings, sockets and switches before the carpet goes down.

Bedroom & New En Suite 🏡

Another recently completed project, this time transforming a bedroom and brand-new en suite. I think we can all agree the colour choice in the en suite is absolutely stunning!

The en suite was finished in Farrow & Ball – De Nimes, while the bedroom was decorated in Little Greene – Clay Mid 153.

The skirting boards had previously been painted in a coloured finish, and the door frames were originally varnished, so there was plenty of preparation involved. Everything was thoroughly sanded, correctly primed, undercoated, and then finished in Benjamin Moore Scuff-X in the beautiful off-white shade White Dove.

Choosing White Dove instead of a brilliant white has given the woodwork a much softer, warmer feel, tying everything together perfectly and creating a more homely finish.

Another happy customer, and another transformation completed. 👍🏼

Cinema Room / Snug 🎬

This room has been colour drenched in a stunning shade chosen by the customer – Benjamin Moore Barista.

The ceilings and walls were finished in Benjamin Moore Interior Matte, while all the woodwork was completed in Benjamin Moore Scuff-X Satin.

I genuinely enjoy working with Benjamin Moore paints. They apply beautifully, the finish is excellent, and their range of colours is fantastic.

I’ve since seen the room with all the lighting installed and the big TV in place, and it looks like the perfect spot to switch off and relax. A brilliant transformation, and a great choice of colour by the customer. 👌🏼

Some exteriors don’t look that bad… then you repair a few render cracks, give it a couple of coats of Pure Brilliant White, stand back, and think…

“Wow… that really needed that!” 😂

I completed the front of this property last year, and I’m due back soon to start decorating the rear of the house.

When I popped back to quote for the next stage, it was great to see the front still looking as fresh as the day it was finished. 👍🏼

That’s what quality preparation, quality materials, and attention to detail achieve. Looking forward to getting the back of the property looking just as good!

“You allwhite, mate?”
“Yes, mate. I’m allwhite, you?”
“Yeah, good. How’s the gaff?”
“Yeah, mate… it’s allwhite!” 🤣

Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, the hallway, lounge, and kitchen area all finished in white.

* Ceilings finished in a flat matt.
* Walls finished in a durable matt.
* All woodwork finished using the Johnstone’s Water Based Aqua Guard system.

This is another property that I’ve previously decorated, so apart from a light sand over every surface, filling a few minor cracks, and dealing with a small water stain, this one ran very smoothly.

The only real challenge was completing it during the heatwave. Being a top-floor apartment, it was more than a little warm! 🥵

Still, I wasn’t going to let that stop me. 💪🏼

Another happy customer, and another fresh, clean and flawless finish.
