Green….

Always such a controversial colour, especially on a vintage upcycle.

But add a little pink and you definitely have a a winning combination.

Are you team green or team gross?

Ad | I found this antique grandfather clock for ÂŁ35, but it was just a shell.

While I knew I couldn’t replace everything that was missing

I wanted to try and at least add a working clock.

I found the perfect clockface on the atomm studio, to help add some character back to the piece.

I then used my M2 to print and cut the clock, all it needed was add a little gold detailing.

And because its nearly Halloween, I decided to add a few spooky Halloween friends to the piece too.

I’d love to know what you think of my new Halloween grandfather clock

Ad | But it needed a little love to bring it back to life.

I cleaned the bench up before priming it and giving it a fresh coat of paint.

I wanted to create a quiet spot in the garden to enjoy a coffee and watch the wildlife

so chose a corner where I could include a Birdfy bird feeder

Our new feeder is made from recyclable materials

and is the new hot spot for the robins in our garden.

Our visitors are huge fans of the solar powered feeder

We’ve even had a cheeky squirrel or two

Let’s Rescue this £20 Mid Century Dresser…

This piece was well overdue its glow up.

I stripped back the old varnish before adding a rich racing green to the sides and trim.

I decided to add a touch of gold to the door fronts to really contrast the beautiful green

Then a much needed hardwax oil to bring out that gorgeous teak grain.

And now this sideboard is ready for its new home!

Let’s Rescue This Dressing Table…

I removed the old layers of blue paint to reveal the beautiful grain hiding beneath

I then refinished it with a tinted varnish to create this raw look.

What do you think of this lighter farmhouse finish?

Let’s Rescue this Cocktail Cabinet…

I stripped back the cream paint using a paint and varnish st****er
I then cleaned up the remaining residue with white spirit and wirewool

Luckily the paint wasn’t hiding anything sinister and I uncovered some beautiful grain!

I decided on a little paint and gold leaf detailing to help frame the grain and make it take centre stage.

I’d love to know what you think of the new upcycle?

Let’s Strip this Old Dark Finish…

I used a paint and varnish st****er to remove the dark, dated finish on these vintage pine drawers.

Simply brush it on and scrape away 15 minutes later.

I then cleaned up the residue with white spirit before washing the piece back

Once they were dry I gave them a gentle sand before replacing the broken trim and refinishing them with a hardwax oil for the perfect farmhouse finish.

What do you think of the new light finish?

Let’s Strip This Mid Century Desk…

This Stag desk was a steal, BUT with good reason

I stripped back the various colours of paint with a paint and varnish st****er before cleaning it up and giving it a once over

I decided to refinish wood using a Hardwax Oil that nourishes and protects the stunning grain while highlighting some detailing with a touch of black paint

I’d love to know what you think of this rescue

Ad | I was truly not prepared for how heartbreaking it would be to update my sons room from a kids room to a teens room.

Gone are the superheroes

Gone are the dinosaurs

Luckily, he didn’t go too crazy with his requests.

He found a beautiful mural from Hovia, Grunge, that he picked in light blue.

I’m always a little nervous with wallpaper.

But I was able to lay the Hovia design out, and within an afternoon had the mural up and finished!

A nice easy update that’s taken the space from little kid to teenager in a day.

Lets rescue these chairs

I hosed the chairs down and brushed on a wood reviver before giving them a gentle scrub to lift the greying wood

After a gentle sand I refinished the wood in a teak oil to bring out the beautiful grain.

A really easy update and they’re ready for some evenings around the fire pit
