The scaffolding is up and our project is underway.

We’re starting work on this beautiful five-bedroom period home, with a list of improvements planned inside and out.

This project includes a complete reroof, exterior and interior redecoration, a full electrical rewire and plumbing works, alongside some changes to the existing layout.

We’ll be closing off one doorway and creating another to form a new en suite dressing room, as well as relocating one of the toilets.

One detail we’re particularly excited to see come together is a crystal glass installation at the foot of the staircase, which will become a real feature of the finished house.

The work is officially underway and we’ll be sharing the transformation as the project progresses 🏠

A little look behind the scenes at one of the biggest changes on this project…

The existing staircase connecting the duplex had to be completely removed, allowing us to separate the property into two individual living accommodations. The former stairwell and entrance were then closed off, creating a completely new room in its place.

THE FINISHED RESULT ✨

One duplex apartment transformed into two completely separate homes in .

Over four months, we completely reconfigured and refurbished the property, including a new Wren kitchen, bathroom, boiler, double glazing, flooring and full redecoration throughout.

There was plenty you wouldn’t know from looking at these finished photos. We removed the original staircase to separate the two properties, brought in entirely new gas and electrical supplies and tackled damp discovered beneath the original parquet flooring — installing a new damp-proof system before screeding and relaying the floor.

The end result is a bright and modern apartment, while still making the most of the character and generous proportions of this beautiful period building.

And with three renovations now completed in this block, it’s a building we’ve certainly got to know well.

FROM ONE HOME TO TWO 🏡

This project marked our third renovation within this building, having previously refurbished two other apartments in the block.

This time we completed a substantial renovation for our client Dan, transforming an existing duplex apartment into two completely separate spaces.

Running from March through to July, this was much more than a cosmetic refurbishment. The project involved separating the two flats, removing the existing staircase and closing off the former entrance, as well as bringing in new gas and electrical supplies while carefully navigating the existing utility connections.

The renovation also included a new boiler and new double glazing throughout, alongside a complete refurbishment of the property.
