🔐 October is National Home Security Month. There's no better time to check your home is properly protected...

Every year, as evenings get darker and the risk of burglary increases, the Master Locksmiths Association MLA uses October to help people take practical steps to improve their security. As MLA-approved locksmiths with over 40 years in central London, we're backing the campaign.

Throughout October we're offering free home and business security surveys. You get a 20-minute visit from one of our engineers to assess your locks, entry points and any vulnerabilities. No obligation. Just honest advice.

If everything's fine, we'll tell you. If it isn't, we'll explain exactly what needs attention and what it would cost to fix.

🌙 The clocks go back next month but we're already seeing the evenings getting darker.

This time of year consistently sees a rise in opportunist burglaries, not because criminals work harder, but because darkness gives them more cover and many households haven't adjusted their security habits since summer.

Three things worth checking before the clocks change:

1. Outdoor lighting: does it cover all entry points, and are the bulbs working?
2. Timers: if you use timer plugs for indoor lights, check they're set to current sunset times, not summer ones
3. Locks: if you've been meaning to upgrade a door or window lock, now is the time, before the darker months arrive
