Today I completed this set of bespoke iroko narrowboat doors, crafted using traditional mortise and tenon joinery and secured with hand-made iroko dowels.

I may be biased, but the finished result is truly something special.

Iroko is an exceptional timber for marine use. Its dense, naturally oily composition makes it highly resistant to moisture and weathering, which is why it is an ideal choice for exterior boat doors exposed to the elements.

They are made from oak or iroko, and I also have some ash available. If you’re looking for a new handle, please let me know and I’ll be happy to make one for you. I would need the tiller pole in order to size the handle correctly.
