We had the pleasure of visiting Build Up Foundation to learn more about the amazing work they do with young people to create lasting change in their communities. 💛

By giving young people the chance to design and build public spaces in their neighbourhoods, Build Up Foundation helps them develop practical construction skills and have a say in shaping the places they call home. From community gardens to play spaces, their projects are bringing people together and creating spaces for everyone to enjoy. 🌱

This December, Build Up Project will go to a public vote with the other finalists for the chance to be named our overall Community Heroes 2026 winner and take home £15,000!

Giving timber a second chance. 💚🔨

We sometimes receive timber that doesn’t meet the standard needed for us to sell it, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be put to good use.

That’s why we’re donating it to charities and community groups, giving them materials they can use for projects that help build, repair and improve the spaces their communities rely on.

It’s a simple way to make sure timber that can’t be sold doesn’t go to waste – and instead, goes towards something that can make a real difference.

Now that’s what we call a worthwhile job. 🌲🔨
