Transforming an open plan space back into a drawing room/dining room was going against the grain. However, it felt like a mere corridor to the kitchen, so it had to go!
I adore a formal dining area—it’s so inviting. Hiding under that whimsical checker tablecloth (my favorite color 🏁) is a grand oak table made from the upcycled ♻️ facades of traditional Turkish houses. It was our first purchase for the house, found by chance in a closing down sale window. At 3m x 1.5m, it needed its own space, but that’s the charm of a dining room. It really is just a room for a table and for creating good memories with friends and loved ones.
