The meeting of two rivers

The Anka Table; crafted in collaboration with British bespoke furniture and finishes specialist Anka, bringing together two studios united by a commitment to exceptional craftsmanship.

Conceived in our London headquarters, the design takes its inspiration from the meeting of New York’s architectural landscape and waterways, exploring the interplay between structure and fluidity. The tabletop answers in blue-stained Birdseye Maple and Antique Bronze liquid metal, the veneer following the organic curve of the design.

Every detail reflects the skill involved in bringing the design to life. A distinctive expression of our design vision, and of the possibilities of material innovation, considered detailing and exceptional bespoke furniture making.

The quiet weight of Mayfair.

A landmark in one of London's most sought-after neighbourhoods, carried by classic lines and colour. From the grand lobby to the sweep of the domed staircase, the story of Mayfair runs through 34 residences; British splendour felt rather than declared. Living in the details, from balustrade to cushion, subtle by design and all the more substantial for it.

New York, through a calmer lens.

A family bolthole above Columbus Circle, where the city quiets and Central Park unfolds below. Naturally toned textiles and gentle colour set the pace; calm, considered, made for returning.

The weight of a beginning.

The most successful projects begin with a designer who shapes the architecture rather than decorating around it.

We are sometimes brought in at the start, and sometimes much later. The difference is quiet, but it runs deep through everything that follows: how a room receives the light, how a space is used, how it feels to live with over years rather than weeks.

When a client asks us when to start, the answer is always the same; earlier than you think.

Light does more than illuminate a room. It shapes the way a space feels and stays with you long after you've left.

For these projects, we collaborated with Haberdashery to create lighting centrepieces; pieces that hold a room's mood the way a memory holds a moment.

Monaco Yacht Show 2026. The yachts draw the crowds; the ideas are why we return.

Throughout the event we kept returning to a single question: where does yacht interior go next? Concept design and direction led the insightful conversations we had with shipyards, and naval architects. Around that, the quieter pleasures of a week in port: connecting with designers, brokers and makers, old connections and new.

We leave Monaco with several new marine conversations underway. Which, in time, we will share.

Our thanks, finally, to those who shaped the week. for having us aboard This Is It on Friday, for opening their yachts to us through the week, and .6.9 and .hahn for the invitations and the evenings throughout.

What is concealed is as deliberate as what is revealed.
Behind every surface sits a considered decision. Joinery without interruption, seams resolved in shadow, light that arrives without announcing itself. These are the details our clients never have to think about. They simply feel them.

We're pleased to share that the MKD team will be attending the Monaco Yacht Show, 23–26 September 2026.

MKD Marine has been shaping highly bespoke yacht interiors since 2012, bringing the studio's longstanding expertise in residential design to life at sea. With projects including the Logica 59 and Logica 147, we've developed a distinctive understanding of how the demands of yacht design are evolving alongside the way owners use their yachts.

If you are attending, we'd welcome the opportunity to connect. Please email us at [email protected]
