I’ve been working on a secret… 👀

For the last few months I have been writing down everything I check, measure and ask on a project.

The numbers I use for kitchens. The questions I ask every builder. The things I look for at a house viewing before anyone has made an offer.

It has turned into a series of guides, written so you can use them at home, with worksheets you can print and fill in ✨

Even better news? Two of them are free!
👉🏻Speak Builder translates the words you will hear on site
👉🏻House Viewing Checklist is for anyone buying a home.

Both are now on the Resources page of our website.

A deep burgundy has been such a popular colour this year in interior design.

Whilst also an Autumnal colour, we love it all year round.

A perfect pop of colour to add to any space that perfectly compliments neutrals.

What’s been your favourite trending colour this year?

A guest room they’ll actually want to stay in ✨

When we first walked into this room, it was a fairly blank space with plenty of potential, but it was missing the warmth and personality we wanted it to have.

Guest bedrooms can easily become an afterthought, but we wanted this one to feel just as thought through as the rest of the home. Somewhere calm and restful, but still full of enough character to make family and friends feel genuinely at home when they stay.

Soft grey-green panelling gave us the starting point, with Pigeon No.25 bringing colour and depth against the warmer off-white walls.

From there, we built up the room in layers. The softly scalloped upholstered bed creates a focal point, contemporary artwork adds contrast, while natural linen, botanical prints, boucle, oak and soft lighting bring warmth and texture throughout.

We also created a quiet corner with an armchair, giving guests somewhere to sit with a book, have a morning coffee or simply slow down.
It’s those layers together that took the room from a spare bedroom to a warm, characterful guest retreat. 🩷

Same studio, two very different kitchens 👀

A little look back at two of our previous kitchen designs, both full of colour and character, but with completely different personalities.

Would you choose the warmth of Kitchen A or the softer blue tones of Kitchen B?

We’ve been busy at Stratton House Hotel & Spa , and this time we’re in the lounge

One of the biggest additions to the space is this beautiful bookcase, and when we say big… we mean BIG. Standing next to it really does make you feel tiny 🫣

Now it’s in, we’ve been busy styling every shelf with books, artwork and decorative pieces to bring warmth and character to the space.

With the integrated lighting switched on, it completely changes the feel of the room and creates such a cosy atmosphere for hotel guests to settle into.

We can’t wait to show you the lounge when it’s all finished ✨

Why work with an interior designer? It’s about so much more than choosing beautiful things.

Behind every finished space are hundreds of decisions, from layouts and lighting to budgets, suppliers, furniture and those final details that bring everything together.

Our job is to make that process feel exciting rather than overwhelming. We narrow down the options, keep track of the details and help you make confident decisions along the way.

Less decision fatigue, more enjoying the transformation ✨

Who knew there were so many grout colours to choose from? 😩

It might seem like one of the smallest decisions in a project, but the right grout colour can completely change how your tiles look and how the overall scheme comes together.

Do we want it to blend in? Create contrast? Pick up another colour in the room? And yes… there really are that many shades of off-white 👀

It’s one of those little details that can easily be overlooked, but also one of the hundreds of decisions we help our clients narrow down throughout a project.

Because sometimes you really don’t need another decision to make 🫣

Which grout colour would you choose?

From the bigger design decisions right down to the finishing touches, there are a lot of moving parts behind a finished space.

Our sample… and where it ended up ✨

For this staircase, we chose .flooring’s ‘Hartford’ from the New England Contract Collection, bringing texture, warmth and a beautiful natural tone to the finished space.

There’s something so satisfying about seeing the materials we started with finally in place. From one little sample to the finished staircase

A little inside look at our camera roll after a day on site 👀

Floor plans, progress pictures, paint finishes, tiny details and approximately 400 photos of the same corner from slightly different angles… all completely necessary, obviously 🫣

They might not look like much at the time, but these are the moments in between that eventually become the finished spaces you see on our feed.

The progress, the decisions, the details and sometimes the things that need changing… it’s all part of bringing a project to life.
