Our latest arrival… 🐾

Meet Winston, the newest member of the family.

We’re looking forward to him joining us on the early morning market trips, where we suspect he’ll make a rather promising treasure hunter.

Like his namesake, he has a hearty appetite, a fondness for good company and love of a well-earned nap! 🤎

There’s something rather lovely about old French pottery.

Warm, earthy tones, creamy drips and beautifully varied glazes give these pieces their own quiet character. Made to be used, handled and lived with, they bring a little of that timeworn French country charm that never seems to lose its appeal.

Beautiful individually, even lovelier collected together.

Available now at Brock Cottage Home, alongside a much wider selection of stoneware and pottery to discover on our website.

We’re drawn to pieces with character, a little history and the way they make a house feel like home. Some are practical, some purely decorative and some are simply too lovely to leave behind.

A wonderfully impressive Victorian washstand in beautifully warm, light oak, with generous proportions and an abundance of lovely detail. Elegantly turned legs, linear detailing to the drawers and two original brass drop handles give this piece a wonderfully considered feel.

Standing proudly on its original castors, it carries a substantial, thickly bevelled Carrara marble slab — the pale stone sitting beautifully against the warmth of the oak.

A lovely example of Victorian craftsmanship.

For those looking for something a little different, we have a wider selection of washstands available, in a variety of styles and sizes. Please dm us with any questions. 💫

Sometimes, the most special finds are the ones that stop you in your tracks…

An exceptional pair of Fischel bentwood chairs. Their organic curved shape and beautifully timeworn finish give them character you just can’t replicate.

Fischel was one of the great names of early bentwood furniture, founded in 1871 by Czech-born merchant David Gabriel Fischel and, in its day, a major competitor to the better-known Thonet brand.

Both chairs have been sympathetically reworked with new dowels and screws, while the original canework remains in good condition. They are wonderfully tactile, beautifully aged and, quite simply, rather hard to part with.

We love these. A lot.

A wonderfully decorative Victorian washstand, made in solid oak and left in its natural, warm-toned finish.

There’s so much character in the details — wonderfully turned legs, shapely curves and elegant linear detailing, all standing on its original castors.

It’s every bit as useful as it is good-looking, with a single working drawer, open lower sections and a generous enclosed cupboard, giving plenty of useful storage without losing any of its decorative appeal.

A lovely, substantial piece with good weight and presence, one we could see working beautifully in a country kitchen, bathroom or dining room.

A wonderful collection of vintage French baskets. 🧺🤎

From generous open-weave log baskets to smaller ones perfect for gathering flowers, we have a wonderfully varied selection, all with their own character.

Use them for foraging, logs, kindling or garden cuttings — or simply let one sit quietly in a corner, to add texture and a collected-over-time feel.

There’s something rather lovely about a basket that is both beautiful and useful, and these bring a little of that simple French country charm wherever they are placed.

A few of our favourites are now on the website, alongside lots more vintage treasures. Link in bio ^^
