Ten years ago, I created this Godzilla print. Despite being released due to popular demand and even being featured by ShortList Magazine, I only sold a grand total of... one. Disillusioned, I put the prints into storage to be forgotten and never mentioned again.

Last week, ten years later, I was asked about those prints and whether I still had any. After much digging, I found them, still in perfect condition. As I removed the crunchy and dilapidated tissue paper protecting them, it struck me that in terms of art style, this illustration really doesn't look a decade old. I couldn't work out if it was because the style I chose purposely references so many different decades that it inadvertently made it timeless, or perhaps it's still too soon to define the artistic zeitgeist of the 2010s.

Regardless, it has been so rewarding (not to mention vindicating) to see a renewed interest in this print after ten years. Despite not being available in our online shop, most have been sold just through people messaging me in the last week. As a customer put it recently, it's like Godzilla awakening after a ten-year slumber.

For now, I am putting the last of the prints back into storage, perhaps for another ten years - who knows. But if you would like one before Godzilla goes back into hibernation, feel free to send me a message.
