Finally, someone is speaking up about this — and speaking up LOUDLY! 👏
It’s about time we started talking openly about how handmade creations are being undervalued.
People are often willing to pay for mass-produced products without a second thought, yet when an independent maker puts hours of work, love, creativity and money into creating something unique, suddenly it’s all about finding the cheapest price.
Handmade is so much more than just a product. It takes skill, patience, creativity, quality materials and a great deal of time and effort.
Please stop undervaluing handmade creations. When we constantly lower our prices, we encourage customers to expect handmade items to be cheap — and that hurts all independent makers.
We should be supporting one another, valuing each other’s work and recognising the time, effort and passion behind every creation.
Handmade has value. And it deserves to be valued.
