Behind the scenes on our latest project... ✨
We are currently hard at work transforming this stunning classic Smallbone kitchen. With its gorgeous bespoke cabinetry, timeless plate racks, and beautiful freestanding dresser unit, this space already had incredible bones—and we can’t wait to show you how the new finish elevates it completely.
The team is deep into the transformation process right now, but here’s the kicker: we’ve also been working on the matching table & chairs to tie the entire open-plan space together! 🪑🎨
Stay tuned... the full big reveal drops next week, and you definitely won’t want to miss this one. 🤫

Safely back home and looking right at place! ✨
This stunning Neptune dining set and cabinet have returned from the workshop, and they look completely at home. With a durable, hard-wearing finish on the oak table top to protect the natural grain and a flawless spray finish on the frames, chairs, and cabinet, this set is ready for plenty more years of family gatherings.
There’s nothing quite like seeing a refreshed piece back where it belongs. 🤍

Decades of family history, reimagined. 🪵✨
Rather than replacing this sentimental gateleg table, we gave it a full JS Decor workshop transformation:
Fully dismantled to the frame
Oak top sanded bare (both sides) & finished with 4 coats of tough clear lacquer
Barley-twist legs prepped with Maalipesu, sealed with 2 coats of Zinsser B-I-N, and sprayed with 3 coats of Tikkurila Akvi Top DS 25
That deep dark base against the natural oak gives it a whole new life.
First-class craftsmanship by Matthew & Antony—tackling those intricate twist turnings to a flawless finish takes serious skill.

The new Little Greene colour card has landed, and the 26 new shades are fantastic for kitchen cabinetry.
They’ve nailed subtle, earthy tones with just the right amount of warmth—shades like Haye White (a soft, ochre-based neutral), Perpetual Blue (a moody heritage blue-grey, perfect for an island), and Barge Stone (a green-infused putty that sits brilliantly against natural stone).
A change of colour completely transforms a kitchen without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Looking forward to getting these on sample boards and seeing them in upcoming homes across the North West.
Which would you choose—a soft, warm neutral or a deeper heritage shade?

🍂 Thinking of giving your kitchen a fresh new look for autumn?
As the evenings draw in, we spend far more time gathered in the kitchen. If your solid wood or bespoke cabinets are looking tired or dated, you don’t need the mess, delay, and expense of a brand-new kitchen. A professional colour transformation completely redefines the space.
Farrow & Ball’s autumn palette has landed, and these rich, earthy tones translate beautifully onto kitchen cabinetry:
🌿 Earthy & Herbal Greens
Treron (No. 292): A soft, timeless grey-green that looks effortless across a full run of base and wall units.
Bancha (No. 298): A deep, olive green that makes an incredible statement on a central island paired with aged brass handles.
🌊 Atmospheric Blues
Selvedge (No. 306): A gentle, relaxed sky blue—ideal for brightening up spaces while keeping things cosy.
Stone Blue (No. 86): A lively, warm mid-blue with heaps of character that pairs smartly against white quartz and oak worktops.
🍁 Warm Earth & Spice
Cardamom (No. CB5): A cocooning, rich spice brown that turns a bespoke pantry or freestanding larder into a showstopper.
Etruscan Red (No. 56): A sophisticated, muted terracotta echo of falling autumn leaves—stunning as a focal feature.
Tack Room Door, Harissa & Straw: Bold accents and warm, honeyed tones to bring life and depth to bespoke shelving or dresser units.
✨ How we achieve a flawless, durable finish:
To ensure your kitchen withstands busy family life, we remove your cabinet doors and drawer fronts to spray them to a smooth, glass-like finish in our dedicated workshop. All in-situ frames and end panels are then meticulously degreased, primed, and hand-finished on-site for a seamless, factory-grade result.

From mismatched mess to showroom perfection. Swipe to see the difference. 👉
Our client was promised a crisp white kitchen, but ended up living with two completely clashing shades of off-white. It looked disjointed, dull, and entirely out of place against that striking marble splashback.
We stepped in to set things right.
Following our obsessive prep routine, we laid down a factory-smooth finish using Tikkurila Akvi Top DS 25. Now, it delivers that razor-sharp, uniform brilliance you expect when walking into a high-end showroom. Not a shadow of the old mismatched tones, zero flaws—just the trademark JS Decor standard.
You don’t need to rip out a kitchen to make it feel brand new. Thanks again to Matthew & Antony for another flawless transformation 👏

Nine years between visits — and proof that proper preparation, premium coatings, and top-tier craftsmanship really do stand the test of time.

We originally painted this lovely country kitchen in Brindle nine years ago in the timeless Vert de Terre using Tikkurila Helmi 30. It held up remarkably well through nearly a decade of busy daily family life, and the homeowners still loved the classic shade so much they chose to keep the exact same colour for their refresh.
For this latest transformation, we upgraded the specification to Tikkurila Akvi Top DS 25 — tinted to Vert de Terre in our go-to industrial lacquer for an ultra-tough, silky, wipe-clean finish built for another decade of hard service. The removable doors and drawers were spray-finished in our workshop, with the fixed frameworks expertly hand-painted on-site.
A massive shoutout and thank you to the team, Matthew and Antony, for another awesome job and first-class workmanship on this one.
The client was completely thrilled to bits with the finish, and there’s no better compliment for us than returning clients who trust JS Decor to look after their homes time and time again.
