This one's personal. I run a locksmith business, but before that I'm a husband and a dad, and we're human after all.
Thanks for bearing with me.
Four months ago I didn't know if I'd be bringing my partner home.
Gemma was diagnosed with placenta percreta. Her placenta had grown through her womb.
After three previous C-sections, it's the thing every doctor fears. I pushed hard to get her to the specialist team at Saint Mary's in Manchester, and she was blue-lighted there on 11 June.
On 15 June she went into theatre. 11 hours. An emergency caesarean hysterectomy. 8.5 litres of blood transfused. Two days in intensive care.
At 00:46 our daughter Elyse arrived. 31 weeks. 1360g. Ventilator, then CPAP, then breathing on her own. Every gram counted.
Then the first cuddle. Then her brothers and sisters meeting her. Then in July, walking out of that hospital with a car seat.
She's home now. Three months old and getting chunkier by the day. Gemma is still recovering, and she's the strongest person I know.
I made a song about it and put this video together. We watched it the other night and cried our eyes out.
To the team at Saint Mary's Manchester and the SCBU at Blackpool Victoria: you saved both of them. There aren't words.

One Born Every Minute starts tonight on E4, and our story is coming up later in the series.
Elyse. Our little miracle.
Adam, Blackpool Locksmiths. Thank you for all the support, it means more than you know.
