As we step into the colder months, our attention naturally turns towards home and creating spaces that feel warm and comforting.
Gathering is a word that seems to capture so much of October and November. Gathering foliage and branches from the garden, bringing woollen blankets out of cupboards, layering quilts over beds and sofas, and thinking about the little details that make a house feel cosy at this time of year.
Looking back through our photoshoots from previous autumns, I’m struck by how much gathering features in the images. Arms full of branches and flowers, baskets and trugs filled with garden gatherings, layers of woollens and well-worn coats. Excitement about preparing our homes and ourselves for the change in season.
I love how we translate the rhythms of country life into the fair, bringing together exhibitors who very cleverly have an eye for those special pieces we find ourselves looking for as winter approaches.
Beautiful textiles, antiques, decorative objects and small treasures that bring warmth, texture and character to our homes.
And, of course, November brings with it the first thoughts of Christmas. Our attention begins to turn towards festive tables, seasonal decorations and thoughtful gifts.
