🏗️ PART 4 — STEELS & COLUMNS ARE IN! 🔩🔥

After all the preparation, planning and temporary works, we’ve finally reached one of the biggest milestones of this structural alteration! 👀

The new structural steels and supporting columns are now in position! 💪🏗️

With the foundation pads, Acrow props, steel needles and temporary supports doing their job, our team has been able to carry out the next stage of this complex structural transformation.

This stage involved:

🔩 Installation of the new structural steel beams

🏗️ Positioning and installation of steel supporting columns

🧱 Forming the required structural connections and bearing points

📐 Ensuring everything is correctly positioned in accordance with the structural engineer’s design

🛠️ Carefully managing the existing structure throughout the installation

💪 Bringing together weeks of preparation and precision workmanship!

🪵 Connecting all the timbers in place correctly.

This is where all the hard work behind the scenes really starts to pay off!

What started with foundation pads and temporary supports is now taking shape as the new structural framework comes together.

There’s a huge amount of planning, coordination and skilled workmanship involved in alterations of this scale, and we’re proud to showcase what goes into getting it done properly. 👷‍♂️

🏠 FLAT ROOF REPLACEMENT 🔨

This roof had multiple holes and compromised timberwork meant a full replacement was needed.

We stripped the roof back and rebuilt it properly:

🔨 All damaged timbers removed and replaced
💪 Timber structure upgraded where required
🪚 New roof deck installed
📐 All new perimeter and edge trims fitted
💧 Joints fully prepared and sealed with PU
☔ Finished with a new seamless liquid rubber roofing system

A complete transformation, leaving a strong, watertight and durable flat roof built to last. 👌

🏗️ PART 3 — WHAT’S HOLDING IT ALL UP? 🔨

Now we’re down in the basement, where you can really see the scale of the temporary works required for this structural alteration. 👀

Before we can even think about altering the existing steelwork, everything above has to be safely supported.

This setup includes:

🧱 Localised foundation pads
🔨 Reinforced Foundation blocks
🏗️ Acrow props
🔩 Steel needles
🛠️ Bracing & temporary supports
📐 All positioned in accordance with the structural engineer’s design

There’s a lot of work that goes into a structural alteration before you even touch the steel — and this is the part that often gets hidden once the job is finished.

With the temporary works now in place, we’re ready for the next stage…

The Acrow props and steel needles are now in position upstairs, providing the temporary support required before the structural steel alterations can take place downstairs.

But there’s a lot more going on beneath us… 👀

Part 3 takes us down into the basement, where we’ll explain the full temporary works setup — including the foundation pads, Acrow props, bracing, needles and supporting works, all installed in accordance with the structural engineer’s design.

Then we can get onto the steel alteration itself! 🔩🏗️
