Not enough professional organisers are talking about how your home makes you FEEL. ❤️
This morning, everything felt a bit much.
I went into my meditation feeling low, with so many thoughts going round my head. That feeling of “How am I going to manage everything?” before the day had properly started.
Taking a moment helped me recognise that I didn’t have to figure everything out at once. Some music, a pause and a little breathing space helped me feel ready to take the next step.
And it made me think about how my clients often feel.
Because sometimes, we feel like we’re drowning in everything that needs our attention. The stuff around us becomes another reminder.
The pile of paperwork you’re avoiding.
The clothes you need to make decisions about.
The kitchen worktop you have to clear before you can make breakfast.
You might be sitting down, but in your head you’re still working through it all.
“I need to sort that.”
“Where am I going to put this?”
“Why can’t I keep on top of things?”
That mental load is tiring. Especially when you’re already carrying work, family life and everyone else’s needs.
This is why my work means so much to me. A room can look lovely when we finish, but I also care about what happens the next morning.
Can you find what you need without getting frustrated?
Can you get dressed without starting the day with a difficult decision?
Can you sit with your cuppa and actually enjoy those few minutes?
Decluttering won’t take away every worry. But having fewer things to manage and systems that work for you can take some of those daily pressures off your shoulders.
You deserve a home where you can rest, breathe and feel supported. And you don’t have to wait until you’ve “got on top of everything” to ask for help.
Does your home help you switch off, or does your mind start making a list as soon as you walk through the door? ❤️
