A kitchen with a secret… 👀

A hidden door built into the units leads through to the utility room/WC.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but we’ve certainly been busy! 🔨🏠

Here’s a look at one of our biggest projects currently underway — the conversion of old garages and an existing unit into a brand-new 3-bedroom home.

We’ve now reached a big milestone with the first fix carpentry complete, including:

🔨 Full first-floor joist installation
🏠 First-floor flooring
🪚 Complete roof construction
🏡 3 dormers constructed
🔨 Large flat roof completed and ready for covering
🏗️ Installation of a substantial 8-metre structural steel

A huge amount of work has gone into getting the build to this stage and it’s great to finally see the shape of the new house really coming together.

We’re now waiting for the roofer to get the flat roof covered and finish off the tiling, then we can move on to the next stage.

A big thanks to James Howell Design for bringing us on board with this project and for all the design work behind it. It’s been great working together to bring the plans to life.

Plenty more to come from this one as the project progresses. 👌🔨

Another productive day on site 💪

An 8-metre steel installed and completed in a single day.

The existing trussed roof was supported, new padstones installed, and with two of us and some lifting genies, we carefully raised the steel into position and got everything secured.

A big bit of steel and plenty of planning involved, but a smooth installation from start to finish. 👌

Another step closer to opening up the space and completely transforming this property.

Back to my bread and butter 🔨
First fix carpentry has always been a big part of what I do, although recently I’ve been concentrating more on kitchens and finishing work.

Nice to get stuck into some first fix again. Roof coming together nicely 👌
