Each design takes a different approach, while still meeting the brief for a contemporary, traditional-modern aesthetic that complements the original building.

The focus has been on maximising the main family living area, creating a bright and spacious space with plenty of natural light.

Yn dilyn ein post wythnos diwethaf yn dangos capel Hiraethog, dyma rannu prosiect arall a gwblhawyd y llynedd — y trawsnewidiad o’r ysgubor hardd hwn yn llety gwyliau moethus.

Mae’n enghraifft berffaith o estyniad modern i ysgubor draddodiadol, gan greu gwahaniaeth clir rhwng yr hen a’r newydd tra’n gweithio’n wych gyda’i gilydd. Mae’r tu mewn wedi’i orffen i safon eithriadol, gyda nodweddion gwreiddiol yn cyfuno’n ddi-dor â dyluniad cyfoes.

Mae prosiectau fel hyn yn dangos sut y gellir rhoi bywyd newydd i adeiladau hanesyddol wrth gadw eu cymeriad a’u swyn.

Following our post last week showcasing the chapel conversion, we thought we’d share another completed project — this stunning barn conversion at Merddwr Barns, transformed into a luxury holiday let.

A perfect example of a modern extension to a traditional barn, the project creates a clear distinction between old and new while still working beautifully together. The interiors have been finished to an exceptional standard, with original features blending seamlessly alongside contemporary design.

Projects like this show how historic buildings can be given a new lease of life while still retaining their character and charm.
