Plastering a ceiling - daunting right and extremely tricky working overhead head!

We.....
* Prepare the ceiling: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust or debris. Use a scraper to remove loose material or paint. Apply a coat of PVA adhesive to ensure the plaster bond effectively.

* Mix the plaster: Combine plaster and water in a mixing bucket until you achieve a smooth, lump-free consistency. Mixing only as much as you can apply before it starts to set.

* Apply the plaster: Load a small amount of plaster onto the hawk and work it onto the ceiling in smooth, even strokes. Starting at one corner and work systematically to avoid missing spots.

* Smooth and finish: Once the first layer sets slightly, apply a thinner second coat. Smooth the surface with a clean trowel, ensuring a consistent finish.

Then the walls-
* Prepare
* Prime
* Apply skim coat
* Apply finish
* Smooth

Not forgetting plastering around corners.
