NOT every trend deserves a place in your home!!
Social media is fantastic for inspiration, but sometimes we think it’s created an unrealistic expectation that our homes need to be constantly changing to keep up with the latest trends.
After more than 40 years in the industry and over 96,000 customer installations, we’ve seen plenty of trends come and go. And one thing we’ve learnt is that good design isn’t necessarily about what’s fashionable, what’s expensive or what everybody else is doing.
It’s about creating something that works for you.
We’re big believers in investing in your home properly, but that doesn’t always mean spending a fortune.
Sometimes it’s about making clever use of affordable furniture. Sometimes it’s about adding a few bespoke touches to achieve a much more expensive look. And sometimes, the best advice we can give is to do absolutely nothing for now.
If you can’t quite afford what you really want, there’s no shame in waiting.
We’d much rather see someone take their time, save a little longer and get a result they’ll love for the next ten years than rush into a compromise they’ll regret in two.
And while we’re all for taking inspiration from beautiful interiors online, remember that those perfectly styled photographs don’t always show how practical a space is to actually live in.
Your home doesn’t need to impress strangers on Instagram. It needs to work for you and the people who live in it.
Buy thoughtfully. Plan properly. And don’t be afraid to do things differently.
We’ve shared a few thoughts in this post that might divide opinion, and we’d genuinely love to hear yours.
