Something a little different for CMB Plastering! 👀
Yesterday we headed over to an open day at Profilestore in Kidderminster, where we had the opportunity to meet the team at TIWI Cork Spray.
We got hands-on with their products, trying out the hand-applied cork coatings, and had a really interesting chat with the owner about their different uses and benefits.
For anyone unfamiliar with cork coatings, they offer some interesting advantages:
• Space-saving – applied in a thin layer, making them a great option to consider where you want to improve the comfort of a room without losing valuable space.
• Warmer-feeling walls – helping reduce that cold-wall feeling and making rooms more comfortable.
• Condensation control – can help reduce surface condensation and the conditions that encourage mould growth.
• Breathable – vapour-permeable options that are particularly interesting for older properties and solid walls.
• Minimal disruption – can be applied over suitable existing surfaces, potentially avoiding the need to strip walls back or alter sockets, skirting and radiators.
• Natural materials – made using renewable cork, with additional acoustic benefits.
• Versatile – with systems suitable for both internal and external applications.
One of the things that really caught our attention was the potential to improve the comfort of colder rooms without having to sacrifice valuable space, particularly in older properties where conventional insulation methods aren’t always practical.
We’re always looking to develop our skills, expand our knowledge and introduce new techniques at CMB Plastering, and cork-based coatings are definitely something we’re keen to get involved with!
