🗣️“Professional, efficient, communicative, friendly and very clean.” ✅

Feedback from our client following this recent tree removal project in Totnes.

Two dead trees were removed from their garden, the usable timber was split for future firewood and we returned to grind the remaining stumps and surface roots.

The client finished with a safer garden, a stocked log store and space for future planting.

If you have a dead or deteriorating tree around your property, speak to our team before its condition worsens.

Tree removal doesn’t always come with easy access.

For this Totnes project, both dead trees stood in a rear garden near the High Street.

Our chipper had to stay outside the garden in a nearby car park, so every branch needed to come down in controlled sections before moving through the rear gate.

The larger timber stayed in the garden and was processed into logs for the homeowner.

Restricted access changes how we plan a job, but it doesn’t always mean tree removal becomes impractical.

From two dead trees to a full log store 🪵🔥

When we removed two dead trees from a garden near Totnes High Street, the homeowner chose to keep the suitable timber.

Once the trees were safely dismantled, we split the usable timber into logs on site.

The logs went straight into their wood store to season for future use.

We later returned to grind the stumps and surface roots, leaving the area ready for future planting.

💭Do you need permission to remove a dead tree in a Totnes Conservation Area?

Tree work within a Conservation Area often requires a formal process before work starts.

For a recent job near Totnes High Street, our client had two dead trees which needed removing.

We assessed the work, dealt with the relevant council process with South Hams District Council and then arranged the tree removal.

If you’re considering tree work in Totnes and you’re unsure about Conservation Area restrictions, this guide explains how we approached a recent project:
