What can cause white marks to appear on your sandstone?
In this case a roof repair with incorrectly fitted guttering caused rainwater to saturate the sandstone and this was the result.
Front of house re cleaned, salt residue chipped off and now the cause of the issue has been resolved it’s less likely to happen again.
Remember sandstone is a natural product and as such these things can happen due to pe*******on of water if it has nowhere to go.

Full restoration of this beautiful blonde sandstone villa.

Full clean, lithomex lime repairs to match sandstone colours all over front facade.

Fully coated side extension with lithomex lime in similar colours, now looks like it’s always been there and blended in beautifully .

Fully coated both cement rendered chimneys in lithomex lime and pointed to look like sandstone blocks same colours as the main house.

Side and rear gable fully cleaned, lime pointed and repaired.

Full length boundary wall had all the old cement removed l, cleaned and then pointed with lime.

Took a while but think the change are well worth it.

This one was a challenge! Very old barn that required shot blasting to remove decades of paint.
Once that was off it was time to restore it, which was done by restoring the sandstone with lime products.

Before, during and after pictures of a recently restored property in Prestwick.

Previously fully coated in cement, cement removed, stone repaired where needed and then pointed with lime mortar.

Delighted with the results.
