One building. Four seasons.

At Architecture 1B, we’ve embraced AI as another tool within our small architectural practice, helping us explore design ideas and bring our visuals to life.

Using this recently completed project, we’ve explored how the building might look and feel throughout the year. Fresh spring planting, summer afternoons in the garden, windblown autumn leaves and the stillness of a snowy winter morning.

It’s a way of helping clients imagine more than the finished building: how their home might feel, how the garden connects with the spaces inside, and how they might enjoy it through the changing seasons.

For us, the value of AI is in supporting our creativity, experience and architectural judgement, giving us more ways to explore ideas and communicate them clearly.

These are AI-assisted seasonal interpretations of a completed project—a little glimpse of one home through four very different moods.

Knorcroft Grange

At Knorcroft Grange, we rationalised the internal layout and introduced a low, sympathetic pastiche link between the pool house and the principal residence, refining the pool house fenestration so its proportions and materials sit quietly within the wider grand country house setting and its extensive landscaped gardens.

A contemporary extension to a traditional Yorkshire stone home in the heart of Horbury’s conservation area.

A bold, angular roofline and expansive glazing bring light into the living space and connect the home to its garden. Original stonework sits alongside crisp modern detailing, retaining the character of the building while adding a new chapter.

Not every office comes with The Vaccines playing outside. 🎶

Ours is tucked just behind the stage — a pretty good reminder of how cool a location we get to call work.

Historic brickwork, brilliant lighting, a courtyard full of people and live music on the doorstep. As an architect, it’s lovely to see buildings providing the backdrop — and people bringing the place to life.

Not a bad spot for the day job. 📍

It’s not often I get into work on a Saturday anymore however yesterday was a nice exception; what a wonderful place to work here ocean colour scene didn’t disappoint!
