Great to see the door package at Hamilton Dock Hotel – Aloft by Marriott, Belfast, delivered for Ganson UK, completed and installed on programme.

This project included the supply and installation of 9 specialist door sets, comprising 5 double SR2 security-rated doors, 1 single SR2 security door and 3 specialist plant room doors, with several openings exceeding 2.4 metres in height.

A key requirement was delivering compliant SR2-rated doors for critical electrical and plant room areas within the required lead times, allowing installation to be completed ahead of inspections and commissioning. The project also required integrated louvres, access control compatibility and a bespoke metallic façade finish, matched to D2525 Gold Splendor Metallic Matt, to ensure the doors blended seamlessly with the architectural design of the building.

One of the more complex elements was the manufacture and installation of a bespoke oversized NIE plant room door measuring 2.4m wide by 2.5m high, which required careful coordination to meet programme deadlines.

Projects like this are rarely just about supplying a door. Success often comes down to close collaboration, technical compliance and delivering on time so the wider project can continue moving forward without disruption.

A great result for everyone involved, with all door sets delivered and installed in line with programme requirements and the NIE plant room door completed ahead of inspection.

Project throwback.

This industrial facility in Warrenpoint required a mix of SR2 security doors, fire-rated doors, access control integration and a site-wide master key suite.
What made the project particularly interesting was that we were appointed after the original contractor failed to complete site surveys, leaving little room for delay within the construction programme.

Working alongside S&E Contracts Ltd, we quickly mobilised, coordinated the package and delivered a fully integrated solution that aligned with the site's security, fire and operational requirements.

RC ratings are becoming an increasingly important consideration on projects where independently tested security performance is required.

They form part of the European EN 1627-1630 standard, which assesses how well doors, windows and shutters resist forced entry attempts under real testing conditions.
