And this, ladies and gents, is how you wear a pocket boutonniere 🧡

No pins, nothing to crush when the hugs start and room for something a bit wilder than a single rose.

This one is hops, amaranthus, a garden rose, marigold and seed heads, grown here, not flown here. We matched the amber and olive to the suit so it looked like it had always belonged there.

Planning a 2027 wedding? We’d love to hear about it. Enquire via the link in our bio.

Our last floral workshop of 2026 and what a high to finish the season on!

Sarah came to spend the day with us before taking on the ceremony flowers for her son’s wedding next year, and we lost the whole morning to sustainable mechanics, foam-free urns and the last of the season’s dahlias. The time just flew.

Three very different arrangements from one October day: a fiery urn of burgundy and orange dahlias, marigolds, zinnias, hops bracken spilling over the sides; a softer, dreamier trough of blush and candyfloss pink dahlias, cream zinnias, phlox, scabious and contorted hazel; and a low bowl of roses and cosmos in sorbet pinks and apricots that is now, we’re told, filling someone’s living room with scent. The trough went straight into church that afternoon. 🧡

Every stem British grown, pesticide free, foam free and cut the day before the workshop!

That’s a wrap on floral workshops for the year. Christmas wreath prep starts now!

Yesterday at the Apple House at The Serge Hill Project, celebrating the launch of Naturalistic Flowers by AESME STUDIO 🌿

The Plant Library in mid October is a different place to the one we knew in summer. The colour has moved from the flowers into the leaves and stems: smoke bush on fire, seed heads drawn against the sky like ink, salvias still throwing out pink and blue, dahlias dark and velvety against corrugated steel. A reminder that nature never stops being beautiful, it just changes what it asks you to notice.

The buckets were already brimming when we arrived, and if we wanted something different or simply more of a stem we loved we could wander into the cutting garden and snip it ourselves. The arrangements we made could only have come from that place on that day. That is the heart of what Ally and Jess do, and what we try to do at Boho: let the season lead and let the flowers look like they grew somewhere real.

So lovely to meet Ally and Jess, and Millie , Emma Emma Youngman and Becky Rebecca Fincham from the Serge Hill team, along with all the other kindred spirits in the room 💛 A day with flowers and people like this is our kind of yoga retreat.

Full vase, full heart, head spinning with ideas for 2027 🌿

Loading the cart is the best part of the week 🌿

Late-season colour at its finest: jewel-toned dahlias, drifts of pink and white cosmos, tumbling hops and little green balloon vine lanterns. So much movement and texture, and nothing flown in!

Between Fiona Fiona Paxton and us Boho Flowers here in Hertfordshire, these are the utter beauties that capture the best of British-grown gems, right at the end of the season.

This is the kind of seasonal British-grown abundance we love to build our wedding flowers around, always foam-free and pesticide-free.

Golden hour in the field 🧡

This afternoon was spent on a site visit for one of next year’s weddings, walking the grounds, imagining where the flowers will go and getting that first flutter of excitement for 2027. Then back to the field for something we haven’t done in a while: simply playing.

There’s a moment in autumn when the light turns amber and everything we’ve grown seems to glow. No brief, no timings, no van to load. Just dahlias, rudbeckia, cosmos and seed heads gathered loosely, tied with silk and left to stand in the grass where they grew. The kind of making that reminds you why you started.

Blissful. 🍂

September on the farm 🌸

Alison took a slow wander through the patch today, and of course the dahlias are stealing the show! Café au lait blush, apricot swirls, deep velvety burgundy and jewel-bright magenta pompoms (some pics follow after the video!), all grown here in Hertfordshire without pesticides…just sunshine, rain and a lot of love (and the odd ladybird hitching a ride 🐞)!

As nature begins to slow we’re already gearing up for next year, planning and planting for all the beautiful weddings and events to come. So exciting! ✨ Is there anything you’ve grown this year that has been an absolute surprise (good or bad)? We’d love to know! Pop a message in the comments or DM us! ⬇️
