October is Wool Month, so we wanted to celebrate the fibre at the heart of the studio; wool.

Wool is the foundation of our rug collection, chosen because of its vibrancy, longevity and sustainability. Each wool rug is made in India by skilled craftspeople using a range of techniques to showcase the incredible properties of this amazing fibre.

Why we weave with wool | Celebrating wool month

The majority of Margo’s large scale handwoven artworks are woven with a wool weft. These include the moon landing installation, the Shuttle Series and the Unity Artwork woven for Blackburn Cathedral.

In addition to holding colour beautifully, it has inherent features which I love including softness, warmth and renewability. In the UK our spinners and mills are experts with wool and we love to support them wherever possible to showcase their industrial craftsmanship.”
