Want a garden and home full of gloriously scented sweet peas next summer? Now’s the time to get sowing 🌱

Getting your first batch of sweet peas sown during October or November is a brilliant way to ensure a long sweet pea flowering season. By sowing them now and overwintering them in a greenhouse or growhouse, they’ll have a chance to establish a strong root system, with flowers arriving as early as May in some areas. Avoid over wintering inside as the heat of the house can cause them to put on too much early growth.

If you want to maximise your flowering period, you can also sow a second sowing in February or March and then a final sowing in May.

As ever, sweet peas hate to have their roots disturbed so sow in long root trainers to give their roots plenty of room to grow and minimise disturbance when planting out.

Don’t forget to pinch your young seedlings out when they start to come through to create bushier plants and longer flowering stems for some varieties. When your seedlings are ready and the last of the frosts have gone, you can plant them out in the garden with suitable supports for them to climb, such as our Rustique garden arch.

This year’s dry weather has definitely highlighted more than ever how important capturing rainwater is. Ashley talks us through two great ways to capture water this autumn/winter ahead of another potential drought next summer.

The first way is using a waterbutt; these can be attached to downpipes from your gutters, greenhouses or sheds. Another way is through creating a rain garden. A rain garden is a fantastic way of diverting rain into your garden. The key is to select plants that can stand periods of dryness but can also be saturated. These plants will reduce any localised flooding and create a space with biodiversity value.

Don’t hang around, this is the last of ’s collections and with all others now sold out, this final collection will not last long 🌷

Introducing Leah’s 3-variety Vintage Tulip Collection, inspired by the faded beauty of antique textiles and old English gardens. Bringing together warm apricot, soft blush, peach, salmon, and apple blossom pink, this blend creates a soft, romantic, and painterly feel in borders and pots.

Full, peony-style blooms sit alongside elegant goblet-shaped flowers, creating layers of rich texture and movement as they open. Together, the harmonious pastel shades form a flowing tapestry of colour that feels nostalgic, abundant, and utterly enchanting.

We are taking orders now for dispatch in four weeks - just in time for late autumn planting. Get yours today, so you can sit back and look forward to a breathtaking display come spring.
