So there we have it. It might not look like much at first glance, but when you understand the extent of the work that has gone into this property, the transformation is outstanding.

We started with a severely damp-affected property and, seven weeks later, left behind a dry, structurally sound blank canvas ready for the client to complete the kitchen and bathroom installations.

Naturally, problems like these are never expected. But at MBC, we don’t walk away when a job becomes difficult. Our client had a problem, they had a budget, and our job was to find a way forward and get it sorted.

Just some of the work completed over the last seven weeks included:

• Full DPM and damp-proofing works
• Rebuilding sections of the timber floor
• Rebuilding a damp-damaged wall
• Restructuring a wall that had been left to deteriorate
• First and second-fix electrical work, including bringing sockets to the correct level
• Replastering throughout the kitchen, hallway and bathroom
• Damp-proofing and self-levelling the floors throughout
• Correcting an incredible 7-inch floor drop, which appeared to be the remains of an old shop step
• Chasing pipework below floor level
• Rerouting plumbing for the new bathroom layout
• Preparing the property for the client's kitchen and bathroom installation

Last week, we issued the customer with their damp-proofing certification and brought our seven weeks on this property to a close.

Not every transformation ends with a shiny new bathroom or kitchen. Sometimes the biggest job is everything underneath — putting a property right and creating the foundations for what comes next.

This week, we're onto a full bathroom refurbishment in Dringhouses. The rip-out is already complete and, thankfully, no hidden surprises this time!

Stay tuned for this one.

🚿 PART 3/3 – THE BATHROOM

We’re now onto the installation of what is going to be a fantastic new bathroom! 👀

After stripping everything right back and dealing with the unexpected issues we uncovered along the way, it’s great to finally see this space starting to come together.

There’s still plenty to do, but the transformation is well underway and we cannot wait to show you the finished result! 🔨🔥

This project has certainly thrown a few surprises at us, but that’s what we’re here for finding the solution and getting the job done properly.

📅 Our diary is now open for late September, October & November.

🏠 PART 2/3 – THE KITCHEN

Come and take a quick look at just how far we’ve had to strip this kitchen back!

What started as a kitchen and bathroom renovation quickly turned into a much bigger project once we uncovered the extent of the damp — but things are now moving along nicely.

The preparation work is well underway and we’re getting closer to putting everything back together. 👷‍♂️🔨

We still can’t wait to show you the finished result — Part 3 is where it all comes together! 👀

Kitchen Refit Turns Into a Damp Nightmare 😳🏚️

What started as a straightforward kitchen and bathroom refit quickly turned into something much bigger when we uncovered a serious damp problem throughout the property.

But at MBC, we don’t walk away when a job gets difficult. 💪

We work with our customers, adapt the plan and find the right solution to get the project back on track.

The damp-proofing process is now well underway and the transformation has properly begun.

👀 Stay tuned for Part 2 to see how we tackle it and bring this property back to life.

From bare walls to a bathroom built to last. 🚿✨

This project started with a complete strip-out and a blank canvas. From there we:

✔️ Fully prepared and boarded the walls
✔️ Installed large-format feature tiles
✔️ Fitted a new quadrant shower enclosure and rainfall shower
✔️ Installed a new WC and basin
✔️ Laid stunning stone-effect floor tiles throughout
✔️ Finished with warm Venetian-style plaster walls for a unique, seamless look

The result is a modern bathroom that feels spacious, warm and built to a high standard.

We take pride in doing things properly—from the preparation you don't see, to the finish you do.

Thinking about transforming your bathroom? We'd be happy to provide a free, no-obligation quotation.

🏡 WOW... WHAT A WEEK! 🏡

Construction doesn't always go to plan, and this week was a perfect reminder of that.

We started work on a beautiful Victorian property in York, preparing for what was due to be a stunning new bathroom renovation. During the strip-out, however, we uncovered something no homeowner ever wants to see...

Unfortunately, sections of the roof structure had been severely damaged by wood-boring insects over many years. While it's never the news anyone wants to hear, discovering issues like this before the renovation begins is far better than covering them up and facing much bigger problems in the future.

Although roofing isn't our trade, looking after our customers is. We've recommended a number of trusted roofing specialists in York and are keeping everything crossed that the repairs are less extensive than first feared.

This is one of the reasons we love what we do. Every property has its own story, and sometimes our job is just as much about finding the right solution as it is about carrying out the work itself.

Next week we're over in South Bank, York, starting another exciting project, and we can't wait to share the progress with you.

📅 We still have availability for home visits between 4pm and 5pm next week.

If you're thinking about:
🚿 A new bathroom
🍳 A new kitchen
🪵 New flooring
🔨 Home renovations

Drop us a message today, and we'll arrange a free, no-obligation quotation.

🚧 Busy Week... It's All Systems Go at MBC HQ! 🚧

It's been a busy one already, and we're back doing what we do best.

One of our projects has hit a rather unusual delay this week... 🐝

A quick word of advice: if you think there might be a wasps' nest behind a boxing or stud wall... don't bang on it to find out! Safe to say the wasps weren't too impressed! 😂

Thankfully, the professionals are on the case, and we'll be back on site as soon as it's safe.

In the meantime, we're putting the finishing touches to another fantastic project that we can't wait to reveal. Trust us... this one's worth the wait. 👀

📅 Our diary is now open for September through to December.

If you're thinking about:
🔨 A new bathroom
🍳 A kitchen renovation
🏡 Flooring
🧱 General building work
✨ Or a full home transformation

Now is the perfect time to get in touch before the diary fills up.

Drop us a message, and we'll take care of the rest.

What's the first project you'd tackle if you could wave a magic wand around your home? Let us know in the comments! 👇
